It is about 15 hours to New Years (from Taiwan anyways) and here is a little update... I wonder is that a bald spot...?
You can see scalp on the back photos.. I hope this is not a bad sign...
This is my 2004 American Deluxe Strat body in the middle of a refinish....
lmao!!are you tryin to grow a goattee?the neck of the guitar in the last pic looks really long lol.Anyway, great pics..you have silky, thick straight hair...congrats!! :)
I forgot to mention, that guitar neck is not a neck. It is a peice of driftwood I found on the street and I use it so I can hold the guitar while spraying them. The real neck is elsewhere...
Can someone give me a pointer on a neat looking gotee? the reason I am growing this because I am getting annoyed at being called a girl.
I didn't mean to be offensive..it's just that it looks thin.I have the same problem.my goatee, and generally my facial hair,is really thin.that's why i cut mine.why...have a lot of people mistaken you for a girl?
I dont know I guess its just genetic... all hairs on my body is thin, be it on the head or on the face... Sometimes I wish I had the thicker hair...
Your hair looks thicker than mine! I've got the same kind of "bald spot" as you have. It hasn't gotten any better or any worse in over three years that I've been paying attention to it. Probably been there for years. I'm 33, how old are you (if you don't mind me asking).
I've never been mistaken for a female (yet), and I have long hair and earrings. Then again, I've got a goatee, moustache and sideburns.
As for growing facial hair, can you grow some decent sideburns?
Happy New Year!
Peter :)
My Blog
You know I have been growing my mustache for several weeks, and it still looks pale. Also I can't grow sideburns because well, they are either too thin or wont grow much at all. Only the little spot under my chin grows and even then, it grows slowly. I did a little exploration around my "bald spots" and I pretty much concluded its a false bald spot that looks that way because of the way my head is shaped and how the hair is combed. Back when I was in the military I had to shave the head and the hairs are all of uniform density, no apprant bald spot were noticed. They are kind of thin however because the most I can get my ponytail circumference is about 6cm. Therefore I am not sure if I can do a half tail because it will be really thin and it would hard to get a hair tie around it. I seen alot of girls with half tail and their thickness is as thick as my full tail.
My sister has the same problem as well, her hair is also kind of thin.
You may just have a wishbone type part which exposes more scalp. That can make the scalp show even if you have no hair-loss. Your hair looks really healthy.
I have a similar "bald" spot too, hasn't gotten any better or any worse. It might just be the way the hair grows and wasn't noticeable until it was longer.
That's too bad about the thinner facial hair. If it looks OK as you have it now, then keep it, especially if it helps people notice that you're guy with long hair, and not a female! Hasn't happened to me (yet), at least not to my face.
Yes. It is thinning at the crown, however I think that Propecia might stop and possibly reverse this situation. I am somewhat surprised since your frontal hairline is very low. Perhaps you should see a Doctor soon for a professional evaluation.
Hi Tai Fu,
You're getting some serious length there, looks silky, straight and shiny, your ponytail is getting some good length and thickness too, it seems to grow fast. How long have you been growing it? It's true I see some scalp showing at the crown (I don't remember seeing this in your last update a month back), I'm not sure if this is due to the way you combed it or not. You seem awfully young to have any signs of MPB, it may not hurt to see a dermatologist who hopefully would put any fears of that to rest. (Your hairline looks nice and low so I suspect it's not MPB at all) Looking forward to see how the refinish comes out on the guitar.
All the best,
David
TaiFu, what a great shot!
I think the hair is coming along fine. I'd agree that the crown of of head has thinner hair than elsewhere and, if that is worrisome to you, you should go see a professional about it. (Then again, if you will likely wear your hair in a tail most of the time, it covers that small bit of thinning up fairly well. So why bother?)
The goatee will be a nice addition once it gains some length. What you are lacking in thickness of hair, you can make up for in length. Then you could even do some cool stuf like braid it or twist it together to add that volume.
One recommendation would be to grow it not just under, but also in front of, your chin (under your lip) if possible. It isn't possible for me to grow the same kind of goat you have now as my facial hair shapes itself like in my pics, pretty much, leaving areas without growth (so I grow where I can).
Happy new year, Taifu. Keep it growing, you hair is coming in nicely.

Hair is looking good bro. Glad to see a smile on your face. Your hair looks better when you smile!
Peace -
Vince.
Hi Tai Fu,
your hair has improved a lot, silky or not, it looks great! And, I don't think that the exposed little bit of the scalp is a problem. I would not really have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out.
Too bad I can't listen to your guitar...
I wish you all the best for 2007!
