Here's a picture of my hair tied into a ponytail. I usually wear it down, especially lately since I wasn't able to tie it back into a ponytail after my trim in October for a few weeks. The person who cut it obviously didn't just cut as much as i told her to, but oh well, im not planning on having any trims anytime soon as I'm happy with the way my hair is right now, I just need it to get longer (I'm thinking mid back). I'm starting to like the ponytail style better since I can now tie all of it without having annoying strands of hair slipping out of it. I can't wait for it to get longer so that it goes down my back instead of sticking out as it does in the picture.

It looks great. I was trying to see what kind of band you are using in the picture. It looks like you may be using two bands.
I'm using just one, heres a picture of it. I'm not sure where it's from, my mom got it for me haha.
Ok. I see now. It looks like one of the big ones. I have some of those, however, I can never get the big ones to hold as they keep sliding off my hair. I use the little ones and then double them around my hair. It sounds like your Mother is supportive of your hair. That's great.
Yeah I have trouble with the big ones too, i have to fold them twice (hope that makes sense) for them to hold, which is why it looked so big in the picture. I used to have this really good hairtie with no metal piece, but I lost it. And yeah my parents are okay with my hair, but I still get the occasional "When are you gonna cut your hair?" but that's okay haha. Hi and a Happy New Year Mihnea!Very nice pony you've got there and yes be aware of stylists that get too scissor happy should you take a chance on another trim but I would avoid that if I were you at this point.I also use the smaller hair ties as even those I need to double up to make them stay put.LOL.I guess thats what you get with straight hair.Anyway looks great and keep up the great work there.Mark

Yeah, stylists don't always take direction very well, but at least hair just keeps on growing. The ponytail looks great, and maybe now that you can pull it all back time will pass more smoothly.

thanks and a happy 2007 to you too! I've been growing it since July 2005 but had an inch trimmed off in october, and i'm thinking of growing it to mid back length.

Hey, ponytails looking good - I've been growing my hair out fro approx the same ammount of time as you (starteed June/July 2005). I wore my hair in a ponytail for the first time to work last week.
I was just wondering how many times you guys have to twist hair elastics to hold your hair in a ponytail - I have to use the thin elastics and twist three times (I have resonably straight hair)

Looks good but I dont think ive seen a picture with you hair down as i dont recall seeing as for Trims I havent had one yet and ive been growing mine since October 2004 but i know im getting to that stage where i will after have one maybe i will give myself a trim sometime soon

It looks pretty good. I know what you mean about not liking it swinging around and hanging off your head unsupported, because I feel the same way. I have a funny way of dealing with that, as I like to wear pullover sweaters. I picked up a couple nice ones recently. The trick is that the bulk of the hood behind my head sort of provides a "platform" for the tail and so it has a place to rest :P
Another thing I do is do is tie it up but then fold it once in the elastic so it is more snug to my head. It's kind of a lazy bun. I was a little apprehensive about it at first but I do like it better that way.
I've attached an example of what I am talking about in the second paragraph.
haha yeah i do that too with hoodies sometimes.

The pony is looking cool there Mihnea. You reallt are coming along great dude. It is going to look awesome when it's picked up even more inches and is even more noticeable. My hair in a pony is currently very similar to that and I can see that we are in much the same place although I seem to have a problem with the fact that the hair on my temples, just above the ears has not been allowed to grow out with the rest of the hair and looks annoying as it curls around. Keep going dude and we will both be where we want to be in no time.
