Aussie moist shampoo, aussie moist conditioner, Frizz-Ease defrizzing shampoo, Frizz-Ease defrizzing conditioner, VO5 Moisturizing Hot Oil.
Does anyone have experience with the above products? I've heard some good things but I'd like to know what you guys think.
In the distant past I have used all of these products and have had good luck with them. However, everyones hair is different so that what may have worked well with myself may very well not work well (or ay all) for someone else. However you never know until you at least give it a try. (The search for what is best can be likened to an experiment until you land on the right combinations for yourself.)
Now at 4 years plus "I think" I have at last landed what is perfect for my own hair-type.
Good luck to you in finding the products that work the best for yourself. One thing I have always noticed............if a certain product is going to give troubles, you know it right away.
I just don't have the time to respond to this properly right now but please check back in a day or two.
Frizz-Ease products as they are ALL A BIG WASTE OF MONEY.
EVERYONE I KNOW says it makes their hair WORSE. I agree. Stay away from them.
Aussie is okay.
L'Oreal Studio Line: MELTing Gel and Liquid SPRAY Gel and
L'Oreal Vive (for thick, dry hair--they have different formulas now) Shampoo and the conditoner are A+ products.
the Paula Begoun book says about aussie: the line was begun in 1979 and is made in the u.s. by proctor and gamble. the good: generous sizes and great prices. Bad: all of the shampoos contain sodium lauryl sulfate. [Sidebar--what's bad about s.l.s? Sodium lauryl sulfate is one surfactant (surface active agent) that tends to be far more drying and irritating to the scalp than other cleansing agents. If you are concerned with dry scalp and irritation you may want to avoid it. it is important to note that sodium lauryl sulfate is not the same as sodium laureth sulfate which is a mild surfactant.] Aussie moist shampoo: sold as a moisture infusing formula for thirsty hair, but with sodium lauryl sulfate as one of the main detergent cleansing agents, this won't moisturize hair in the least. A bad choice for dry or damaged hair.
Aussie Moist conditioner: almost identical to Mega conditioner, an exceptionally basic conditioner that contains mostly water, thickeners, detangling agents, slip agents, preservatives and other non-entities such as fragrance and plant extracts. works well as a daily conditioner for all hair types normal to slightly dry.
VO5 Hot Oil Hair Treatment, Moisturizing: Nearly identical to Hot Oil Treatment, Color Keeper. product is minimally moisturizing or conditioning. Contains mostly, detangling agents, thickeners, plant extracts, conditioning agents, slip agents, preservatives and fragrance. there is no oil in this liquidy product, and the overall ingredient roster isn't impressive enough to make this worth using as a special treatment.
John Frieda: Frizz Ease Glistening Creme, Defrizzing Conditioner, Extra Strength Formula: A standard but good conditioner. there is nothing extra strength about this product, but it can work well for smoothing normal to dry hair that is normal to thick or coarse. Original Formula: can work well for normal to dry hair of any thickness except fine.
