How do I grow my hair to be all one length? Should I cut the sides so that the top can grow? I really don't have a clue, so please help me!
As a stylist, I part the client's hair in the middle and comb it straight down all around. Then I keep the back SLIGHTLY trimmed until the sides catch up. I do not cut the sides at all--that's the area that needs to obtain sufficient length to be pulled eventually into a ponytail. Once the ponytail phase has been reached I trim the back (if requested) by combing the hair all back and putting an "edge" (rather than a blunt cut rendering) on the ends. This provides for a neat shape when the hair hangs loose. Good luck!
