Awesome band, saw them when they were last in Sydney back in 2001, now they're finally back and I'm gonna see them at the Big Day Out soon!
Btw, Maynard keeps changing his hair, from LONG hair, to piglets, to bald, to spiky, to mullets, to combinations of them all, but it's great to see from this pic that danny (an EXCELLENT drummer) has really grown his hair out.
Yeah!
That is a cool cover. I tried to check out some of their music, but Dell Music Jukebox doesn't have any of their stuff. That really stinks! I should switch to iTunes or something.
If you like good music, then you owe it to yourself to checkout TOOL. Check out Wikipedia maybe.
And go 2 Amazon, look up their albums, and they should have 30second samples of their songs there.
Or a CD store (that's how I do it-but hey, I may be only 22, but I'm old school baby!)
I feel really old now. I still have some 8 tracks that are older than you are. Ha! I wonder if they would still play?? I bet they would, but I don't think I have an 8 track player anymore. Well, thanks for the advice. I'll pick up a CD this week and see what they sound like. I listen to music all the time.
It's al about perspectives huh? I mean I referred to myself as 'old school' only because I refuse to buy music online, instead I'll go out and find it, listen to it and maybe buy it...but I forgot about 8-tracks and vinyl etc.
On the other hand I grew up with cassettes still very prominant, so kids below 12 are like 'what?'
anyway, I guess I am grudgingly going along with new technology as I bought my first mp3 player just last week.
As for TOOL, I'd reccomend giving a go of either Lateralus, 10,000 days (their latest release) or any other CD of theirs, but thier greatest work in my mind is "AEnima". It truly is a wonderful, complex, powerful record.
Finally, Maynard their lead singer is also the lead for "A Perfect Circle", initially a side-project for the people involved, they make terrific music in thier own right (e.g."Thirteenth Step").
Music is great isn't it?
They make great music videos too. The video for Parabola was just..wow
go to youtube and type in "tool".youtube has everything and anything under the sun!! :)
