Hi everyone,
I was just wondering how you deal with those unavoidable windy, warm, humid days (January has been amazingly mild in Nova Scotia so far, not that I'm complaining, I love mild weather but my hair doesn't). After arriving home from work yesterday, then going out for my walk, I have to say my hair was NOT very civilized, a frizzy, poofy mess of ugliness. It was not a bad hair day, more like a nightmare hair day LOL! After what semed like half an hour of detangling, it seemed a LITTLE better. This morning, it was the same after my morning walk. I now plan to have a shower and SLATHER on the conditioner, hope I can tame this frizzball. I plan to post my 33 month update in a week or two, can't have it looking like this, LOL!
ANY tips are appreciated! Thanks.
David
Not much you can do about warm, humid.Wind+loose hair=mess.Put it in a tail, braid it.I ride a Harley.Motorcycles are the ultimate wind machine. Some bikers use a leather sheath over their tail.I do the multi hairband thing and then stick the tail down my shirt.I have proven that works at 120 mph+.A hat or do rag can help especially for people with shorter hair.

Or quit going for walks.
Just Kidding.
maybe you should shampoo a little more often in humid weather,I've noticed on the days I shampoo,my hair has a little less frizz, but is slightly more "poofy",if you know what I mean :)
David , I feel your pain. I happen to live in the wretched state of Florida. Miami florida to be exact. Its summer all year long. The humidity is around 79-82 % and this is during "winter". On "summer" it is between 89-97&. My hair tends to look like rat fur after being outdoors for too long. Thats why i avoid the beach and all outdoor activities. When my hair gets frizzy and poofy i hop in the shower and drown it in water. Afterwards when it dries. it remains frizzy but not poofy. Pretty insignificant shower if you ask me. W/E you do , do not use leave in conditioner nor hell spray. They will only make your hair worse and make your scalp itchy
Hi Chris,
I had no idea the leave in made it worse. Yesterday, after one conditioner only wash, plus a dose of leave in, the hair still seemed so bad (after allowing to dry) that I got back in the shower a second time, applied MORE conditioner, rinsed out the conditioner, then put leave in again before drying. (I always use leave in, maybe this is part of my problem) I use Pantene conditioner for dry damaged hair and Infusium 23 for leave in. Perhaps I'm overdoing the conditioner, I was a little desperate yesterday. (It's true that I would love to live in a warm climate, but I certainly don't envy you guys for the perpetual humidity you get down there!)

Hey there David , Leave-in conditioner only makes my hair worse in humid conditions. My hair becomes sticky and the conditioner hardens making my hair strands attach and become tangled. I just take a cool shower and wash off all the sweat with water only. afterwards it remains frizzy but not poofy. I think your best bet would be keeping it in a tail or braided. Maybe a bandana would help too. BTW , I am really anticipating your progress pics....CANT WAIT!!!!!
All The Best,
Chris
Thanks Chris,
If I can get my hair in a better mood I will post sometime in the next week or so, which makes it three months from when I took my avatar picture (there's not a huge difference from my avatar, as my hair grows slowly, but I think I have added between one and two inches, the hair also appears longer and a bit straighter when its in a good mood).
The hair is a bit better today, after a deep condition.(but still a bit dry) I had actually thought about wearing it in a tail the other day, but I didn't realize how windy it was until I stepped out. In really humid conditions my hair sometimes acts up even without the wind anyway. I also am contemplating a hot oil treatment. See the thread above started by Jacob. (Cerebral Assassin)
