On down the line some of you were discussing leave in conditioners. I would like to make a suggestion. I firmly believe that Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk might be of some help. I wash with {Nexxus Diametress~ Luscious Hair Thickening Shampoo} and then condition with {Nexxus~ Replenishing Conditioner and Detangler}. When my hair is nearly dry I use the Smoothing Milk. I do this everytime before I go out for the evening and my hair behaves very well and looks good all night long. The Nexxus products are a tad bit expensive, but, a little will go a long way. Nexxus conditioner helps a great deal with tangles, (leave in for 3 minutes). For men with thinning hair I can not stress enough the importance of using an inflamation reducing shampoo at least twice per week. This is obviously why Merck used Neutrogena T-Gel in their FDA trails with Propecia. Neutrogena T-Gel, or, Denorex Therapeutic Shampoo are good choices in the fight against scalp inflamation which may well be a factor in MPB. Nizoral is another choice, but is somewhat different from the other two. Nizoral completed clinical trials and they insist that their shampoo is just as effective as Rogaine for hair regrowth, however, Nizoral may cause exceptionally dry hair.
Good post there, Jeffrey
I have been putting my leave in (Infusium 23) conditioner into my hair just before the drying stage, not when it's nearly dry. I never realized there were shampoos that could help with thinning hair.
I do have a couple of questions for you. How long have you been growing your hair (your hair seems longer than mine and I've been growing for 33 months from last trim, 3 years if I don't count the trim), and do you have a length you are striving for?(waist length, possibly?) You also mentioned in an earlier post that you would post a picture of your hair the way you typically wear it, your hair looks great from your avatar as well as the back picture you recently posted, nice and straight. (Is it always this straight?)
Thanks for any replies,
David
I also meant to ask how many times a week you shampoo, and do you also have days where you do conditioner only washes?
Is the moisture milks available as a leave in? I did find it as a regular conditioner (strawberries and cream), it didn't seem that great in my hair, perhaps the leave in is better, or do you actually use a small amount of their regular conditioner as a leave in? I guess its time for a walk to my Wal-Mart to check this out.
Thanks,
David
David, I shampoo every day. Sometimes twice per day. I found some old "personal" receipts today and realized that I have been growing from a 1" taper cut for about 2.5 years, which even surprised me. I thought it had been longer. I even showed the guys at work the receipts and my supervisor confirmed that this was when I started growing my hair. This was at a time when I met the guy that gave me my last haircut. When I get back off the road I want to share another product with you that I think helps a lot. You can even tell by fingernail growth. The product is KNOX GELATINE. I know that it speeds hair and nail growth. I don't care what anyone says, IT DOES. I have tried it on and off again many times and I can tell a big difference when I take it. You can take a packet every day with a glass of milk, juice, etc.. You will have to trim you nails more often, I can assure you. This obviously means that the hair is growing fast too.
Hi Jeffrey,
Maybe I'll have to try the gelatin! Obviously you ARE blessed with a great growth rate, as I have been growing it for 2 3/4 years from 3 or 4 inches, and my hair appears way shorter than yours (especially in back, your recent picture of the back appeared at near mid back length, I figure I'm at least a year away from mid back). I would still love to see a picture showing the full length of your hair, your avatar only shows a small bit. Also, how long do you hope to get it, are you aiming for waist length?
David
Try Garnier Long and Strong leave in conditioner. It helps your hair gain strength and length if your having problems! Also a japanese secret to wonderful hair is Camellia Sinensis oil (Green Tea extract) is wonderful and also why asian men and women have great hair. Goodluck
