Oh well....
It was kind of dificult to take the oil out of my hair but it eventually came out. There are only slight diferences on my hair, such as lightness, it is more smooth also, and a little darker in colour (don't ask me why). I don't think i used the correct method anyways, so I might leave this for when I realize better how to do it.
Anyways, it was a really nice experience, and definitly my hair feels somewhat better, but not that big of a change to make this a habit =P
Now a question... I discovered Pantene (the brand i use) has got some nasty ingredients in it... I'm talking about dimethicone and amonium laurel sulfathem, that for what I've read, can dry the hair. I've been using this brand for a really long time now and I want to change, for I know that there's gotta be something better for my hair (and for my sister's as well...)
So my question is, do you know any brand (which is available in europe as well), that does not contain silicones or laurel sulfaths?? I know there are really good brands but most of them are not available here in Portugal... I was thinking about elvive or so, what's your opinion??
Thank's for reading guys =) See ya!
Most of the Suave line is cone-free but I'm not sure if you can get it in Europe. I try to stay cone-free but find that occasional use of them is okay.
I also use shampoo bars which are completely natural:

Hi Jason, I apologize for interrupting your reply to Joao, but have you ever thought about including some of your hair care tips on your website, such as frequency of shampooings, how you condition, how you dry, etc. (You don't need to be brand specific, even general tips would be great) I don't think you saw the thread I started below about hair care routines, it's probably scrolled down a ways by now. Whatever you do is obviously right, as you probably have close to the best hair of anyone here.
Thanks,
David
Thanks for the kind words, David. Of course, you're mostly just seeing good hair days when I take pics!
The truth is I'm still trying to find the perfect routine. It's frustrating because just because something works well at times, I've found that it doesn't always work.
I shampoo twice or thrice per week. I like to get that third day in between washings but can't always do it. My scalp can be quite sensitive and is prone to itchiness and oiliness. When it becomes this way, the only cleansing agent I've found to work without causing itchiness is shampoo bars. My scalp loves the fact that there are zero chemicals of any kind in them. Having said that, it often takes three lathers because they don't contain the potent and abrasive materials. I usually still condition the length with Suave conditioner. I have found ACV rinses to be an excellent finishing tool. They restore the proper acidic balance for the scalp and further alleviate itching. I like how they leave my hair as well.
When I'm not experiencing this itchiness, I generally use Suave shampoo. I've tried many varieties with my favorites being Milk & Honey, Coconut and Ocean Breeze. I almost never put shampoo on the length but will let some of the suds run down it. I then condition the length. I will occasionally do ACV rinses with this too but not usually.
Periodically I clarify using either Neutrogena or Pantene's clarifying shampoo. Note: I hate regular Pantene shampoo. Nothing wrecks my hair worse but their clarifying shampoo I have found to be okay.
I also occasionally use Loreal Vive Smooth Intense shampoo and conditioner.
Every once and a while I'll use jojoba oil on the length.
I never blowdry. I wear a braid almost every day which I have found to be vastly superior to a ponytail not only because I prefer its look but also because it keeps my hair detangled better and protects it.
Pantene has started to destroy my hair as well. It has become rather dry and frizzy lately. Now that I'm back at university, I have some TRESemme that I'll probably start using, but may switch to VO5 or a natural shampoo as soon as that runs out.
I would imagine you can find TRESemme in Lisboa. It seems to be rather light and doesn't seem to have too much junk in it (though it does have laurel sulfate, now that I look at the label). Otherwise, your best option is probably a natural shampoo and conditioner that has just the basic ingredients in it.

I used Pantene and Garnier Fructis throughout most of the year i have grown my hair so far.
They didn't seem bad at all.
I recently switched to V05 and the only difference im noticing so far...is that even though the conditioner is much cheaper, i gotta use like 1/4 of the bottle to have the same effect as a handful of Garnier.
idk...something's wrong with me...or....i dont know.
i thought that a cone-free conditioner is supposed to be better...but i really dont notice a difference....but if i were to choose as of now....i'd pick either Garnier or Pantene...b/c it doesn't take 5 handfuls of conditioner to fully cover my hair.(its not even that long....1 year of growing)

Oi João, I have always heard that Pantene is a very harsh shampoo for the hair. As far as shampoos sold in Portugal, I have no clue. The "bad" ingredient to look for is
Ammonium Laureth/Laurel Sulfate/Sulfide. Also, as you know, the conditioners without "cone" on the end of the chemical name are the ones to look for. There are lots of organic shampoos on the market, and I think that the shipping from somewhere in North America would be cost prohibitive - else I would make recommendations; however, I imagine the same type products are available in your country in some form. Somebody else here from Europe once talked about using Elvive, and it seems like they liked it.
About the oil, I think it sounds like you might have used too much. The resulting shampooing to remove the oil probably did more harm than the oil benefitted.

For anyone in Europe I am a huge proponent of Phyto. Available at French pharmacies, department stores, Sephora...
