I want my natural haircolor back and i'm wondering what's the best way to achieve this, do i have to bleach/colour it or just let it be and wait for it to grow back by itself?
Now it's been about 6 months ago since i coloured it dark brown, my natural haircolour is kinda Ash blonde.
Simon
I would just grow it out, bleaching is asking for more trouble and there is no guarantee that it would not result in making it too light with bleaching.
Your hair looks very healthy, so I'd say you could get it dyed back to your natural color. Go to a professional who specializes in coloring. I speak from experience, it's really frustrating to have 2-toned hair!!
Yeah i agree, i hate having 2 coloured hair, it somehow looks thinner because my blonde natural haircolour is growing out underneath.
Dont try and bleach your hair... bleaching is more damaging than using HOT blow dryer, then perming, then straightning combined. Bleach will change the texture of your hair almost instantly and if it was smooth to begin with your hair will not be smooth, it will feel like barbie doll hair afterward.
I just can't believe that after all you've passed with your hair and after that BIG trim you had because of your damaged hair (and I'm sure that the damage was caused by the colouring you did) you STILL want to do it again!!
Don't do it fella, I'm telling you... You did it bad in the first place, don't do the same mistake twice... Wait peacefully for your new hair to grow naturally and do not touck it with any other kind of chemaical... You don't want to have to get another big trim in 6 months I assume...
This is the best advice you can get, believe me... No to coloring, never ever!! At least if you want helthy long hair...
=) Chose well =) Natural is always best, even if you have to wait for it with a two colored hair ...
Yeah, i guess you are right, i'll never gonna colour my hair again, at least not if i want to grow my hair long.
Thank you all for the advice you've given me:)
Not that I have any real experience with coloring/dyeing hair, but I'd have to vote for just letting it grow back to it's natural color over time.

Have you ever thought about using henna to even out the color? It is all natural and extremely good for your hair. You can't go lighter with henna, but you can use it to blend uneven colors while your natural color grows out. From personal experience it works great! Veronica
Simon, I've gone to beauty college and my hair is happy and healthy! It hits about mid-thigh. If I were you, I'd go to a professional hair colorist. Have them weave your natural haircolor "Ash blonde" into your hair so it blends with the "dark brown". By doing this, you won't have those crappy looking roots as it grows out. Keep trimming every couple of months and before you know it, all the hair color will be gone. Then let it grow with NO hair color! Good Luck Simon! Reyna
Hi Simon,
you can do several things:
1) getting 2 cm-trims every two months. Advantage: the dark brown will be gone in about 18 months. Disadvantage: NO real length gain during that time - might as well go short-haired and start over (eeek!)
2) bleaching the dark-brown color out. Advantage: Quick-fix. Disadvantage: quite a bit of damage once again.
3) re-dyeing with slightly brighter colors everytime you do it. Advantage: Less noticeable color change. Disadvantage: Many more dyeing cycles and much more damage.
4) try to find a stylist who works with a dye-extractor that does not dye or bleach, but that just extracts any artificial pigments. Advantage: "perfect" fix of the problem. Disadvantage: Almost unavailable in Europe - stylists will tell you that this doesn't even exist, or they simply won't understand you and WILL use bleach instead. - Possible solution: Get a friend in the US send you three packages in the mail, and read the instructions carefully before you start.
Personally, I'd go for solution three.
Whatever you do, all the best, and good luck!
