I have worn my hair long and short at various time for quite a while. Right now I'm letting it grow out again and it seems to me that times are changing. Right now it is just reaching shoulder length and I have not had a single negative comment.
Yesterday I did a google search on the subject and came across the poll linked to below.

Only about 15% said that guys should not wear their hair long. Now I realize that this is a "long hair" site but those numbers are still seem to be strongly in favor of it.
Has anybody else noticed a change in attitudes?
I think it depends on where you live. I get these somewhat malevolent glares from middle-aged guys at the supermarket, but I kind of enjoy that. : )
Absolutely, at least where I live in Oregon. It is almost like going back to the 70's but we're not quite there yet.......but we're getting close!
Well, LHC probably isn't an unbiased survey sample. ;)
In more cosmopolitan areas, exposure to other cultures that have (some) traditions of men's long hair are eroding mainstream attitudes against long hair.
"Well, LHC probably isn't an unbiased survey sample."
True but that polls respondents is made up mostly of women and other than this board I have never seen this high of an approval rating for guys wearing their hair long. One of the reasons that I did that particular search was that I have noticed a change in attitudes recently, from both men and women.
In the early 70s almost everyone had longish hair. I don't see that now. Back then I thought that times were changing, but unfortunately they changed back. At least now there is more tolerance, and fashions aren't so unremittingly in favour of short hair.
