will hairspray make my hair more fragile? when I comb it after using some it feels like the hair is breaking but that might just be that the spray is sticky? thanks
Be careful with that stuff. I don't know if it makes the hari more fragile, but combing sprayed hair can definitely lead to breakage. If you have to comb it out, try loosening it with your fingers first. Having had a lot of breakage in the past, I now shampoo out hairspray instead of combing it out.
I don't ever use hairspray, because my hair is curly and more prone to breakage anyway; I don't chance it. Spray has alcohol in it and it absorbs oil on contact. So if you have a dry scalp and hair it can and will aggravate that but used every once in a while it won't damage your hair. Especially if it's a soft-hold type of spray. At any rate, I still personally wouldn't do it...
Know what you mean. I have shoulder length fine hair and I am very careful with it.
My favorite hair spray is Biolage, Finishing Spritz, firm hold.
It works great and fairly easy to comb out.
Learned about it from my wife.
