With the exception of back trims, no hair cuts since Christmas 05.
Im going thru the last grunge stage beore I can pony tail. I do have a nice half tail I wear real high. I figure I am another month away from a proper pony tail. I say last grunge stage because the bangs dont quite tuck behind the ears and the hat thing looks crazy as the side and back gets fuller and longer.
The next big step is going to work with my hair tied back ! ! !
No hassle from the work crowd (a number of longhairs there) but a lot of "what are you doing," looks. That first day I show up with my hair tied back is going to be interesting.
I am loving this experience. After the shower and before work, I will walk around the house letting it dry as it hangs in my face.
My hair is thick, but straight as a board. Im thinking about a mild perm to give it some wave. Any sugestions?
According to the description you gave of your hair , I'd say leave it alone. Just hang in there till it gets longer. Perms can cause severe damage to your hair. Perhaps you can post some pics of your hair , Or perhaps the pony tail??
all the best,

Lots of guys wish for really straight hair! I'd recommend you let it get longer and past the "awkward" stage, before deciding to perm it. You may end up really liking it straight, when you have more length.
Good luck!
Hi David,
it's good that you're almost there. From now on, it'll be a breeze.
I'd stay away from chemical perms, quite a long time ago I tried perming chemicals to straighten my somewhat frizzy hair - chemistry all but destroyed it and I lost almost 6 inches in the end - yuk! ALWAYS remember: Perming chemicals and depilation chemicals are - IDENTICAL! Thank goodness, that disastrous experiment took place a long time ago...
To quote a part of Alex's hair URL on his web site, just "let_it_grow" ...
All the best!

Hi David, from another David! Iy sounds like great progress you are making, hope you can get some pictures up soon. I would say it is best not to perm your hair, as that can cause serious damage. Straight hair is easy to grow, and grows fast. I have heard some guys say that once you have long enough hair, you can braid it when damp (but be gentle when handling damp hair), then remove the braid when it is thouroughly dry, this will give it some wave. Hope this helps.
All the best,
David
