How do you guys feel about wearing your hair in halftails and similar styles?
errr i dont even know what a halftails so i dont think i ever tried ^^
but i'm open to all new eperience lol
See Jason's post above.
That's my favorite style. I have no problems wearing it in public either.
Looks great. You're the first guy I've seen go with a braid instead of a tail. What kind of reaction do you get to it?
I wear it unbraided as well. I definitely notice some stares but they don't bother me. It's kind of cool actually.
One of the reasons that I was wondering about it is that the only way I've ever worn mine is in a layered cut so other than a very skinny and short ponytail (rat tail is more appropriate) there was nothing I could do with it. I've been letting it grow out a bit and will definately be able to do a better half tail before anything else--a braid is still sometime way off though.
Thanks for the comments.
I dig it. The sides are still pretty short to reach a low ponytail so putting it up high works, yet lets the back hang loose. Bruce'ster
Another angle. This pic was taken about 2 months ago.
Liam Neeson's portrayal of Qui-Gon Jinn in STAR WARS,The Phantom Menace was actually my inspiration to grow my hair out.....several board members are now wearing this style and I think it looks fantastic and very masculine.
My fine, thin hair is setting a MLHH record for slow growth, but if it ever attains the length and bulk needed for a half tail, I will wear it that way.
I decided to try it. Here's a webcam picture from the back:
Sorry, I didn't get the URL right. Here it is
I'm jealous...
I wear my hair that way fairly frequently, although I use a clip instead of a hair-tie (every time I try to tie a half-tail with a hair-tie it gets tangled up and pulls). That style works great when I need keep the front hair from falling into my face but want to have most of it loose.

What kind of clip do you use? My hair is too fine to tie less that half of it with a hair tie.
When I'm going out I use a plastic barette. They match fairly well with the color of my hair, and don't catch and pull my hair like some of the metal ones I've tried. Around the house I've got a couple of "claw" type clips that are easier to put on and off when I need to keep my hair out of my face. If I can get my digital camera hooked up to my puter I'll show what they look like.
