Hello all I have wanted to grow my hair long for years, but I keep hearing from people I will look awful with long hair and that it takes so long to grow it that the akward stage will last forever. I still want to go ahead and grow it, but I want to know is their anyway to speed up the growth process and also does ayone know of a good hair straightener my hair is pretty wavy and I would like a straighter look. Thanks.
Hi!
I'm a firsttimer, too. Been at it for nine months now. I was tempted to use Flat Out and blow dry my hair to keep it from getting too curly/wavy, but I decided to make use of a cap to keep it under control during this awkward stage. Wavyhairs have longer awkward stages and it takes longer to get to a reasonable "longhair" stage, but I choose to believe people who say my hair looks beautiful and that I should be glad it is so thick and wavy.
I encourage you to go for it if you really want to be a longhair. And remember Rome wasn't built in a day, patience is a virtue, and some things are worth waiting for.

Thanks I will keep trying right now it is just entering that awark stage where gels no longer will keep it together. I also worry about the fact that my hair is starting to thin in the front just a bit. Unfortunatly baldness runs in my family so I may get only one shot at growing my hair out. Wish me luck!!
