Hello,
I've been growing my hair for one year now (almost no cuts to prevent split ends).
But how often do I need to go to the barber?!
I think, I will let my hair just grow right now and only go to the barber when my hair REALLY needs it...
Hello again, Neo. Remembering your earlier pictures, a barber is NOT neccessary, your hair is in great condition. Please avoid barbers if you want it really long.
Keep it growing,
David
I agree with the comment below: just let it grow. But as a rule, a year or two down the road when you need a trim, don't go to anyplace that says BARBER in the window (at least not if you live in the US). Those places are run by people who know one basic hairstyle: short. They don't take direction well and won't really give a flip that you just want the ends trimmed a bit to avoid split ends. Instead, save up a bit of money ($20 or $30 + $5 tip) and go to a good salon, where they get paid good money to give you exactly what you want. Be sure to ask around for recommendations, and be very specific when you go for the trim. If you have to, show them exactly how much you want trimmed.
That may sound like a lot of money, especially if you're used to paying $5 for a cut (as I was before I started growing). But if you only go once a year it's really not that much, and it's totally worth it.
Best of luck,
Jeremy
I agree with JB.I haven't been to a barber since I got out of the Airforce in 1977.He is wrong about the number of styles they have. They have two, short and buzz cut.Used to you could get a good shave with a straight razor.I don't know if they still do that.Rule # one if you want long hair.Don't cut it.

Hi Neo,
who says you need to attend hairdressers? Your mother? She's a good mother, but she got that wrong, if that was indeed her idea.
Cutting hair for length gain is like having intercourse (Beischlaf) in for chastity (Keuschheit).
Your hair is in great condition, no need for "trims" ("Spitzenschneiden"), they are a trick to mess it up so that you go short again!
(By the way, "barber" is used mostly in the sense of "Barbier" or specialist for super-short cuts - it's the "un-word of the year" for any long-hair)
All the best!
