Hey, DividN, how is the beard coming along? I have let mine grow out a bit and I like it, however it makes me look really mean and I'm not a mean person at all. I think that I may look mean because I am so tired. I just got in off the road when I too the pic and I have been awake for about 32 hours, or more. Anyway, I do like the beard with the long hair. Oh, gezzzz, what about the gray? I guess that just tells me where I'm at in the game of life. Please, post a pic of your beard when possible. Thanks, Jeff.
Although not DavidN I hardly think you look mean and the beginning of the beard really looks good! Though I had one when younger I decided to go without as I would have as much salt and pepper as do you now which wouldn't match my hair colour. But you know what...........I think I rather like the look. Guess I'm going to have to give it a try.
Best of luck to you in growing it out.
Good for you, Justin, why not give it a try. It seems we've started a movement here to get a few beards growing.
All the best,
David
I'm jealous of the guys here that can grow a decent beard...mine is too thin :((
same for me :(((
You guys will as you get older. Some guys just take longer than others. By the time my Mother brought me home from the delivery room I had a five O'clock shadow:)
Thanks, Justin. I know we all want to see some pics when you start growing your beard out. I would really like to see what a difference it makes on you. This will be really interesting. I may colour my beard a little later on. Soooo much gray. My hair is the same colour, but I use coal tar shampoo and that keeps my hair rather dark.
Hi there, Jeff. My beard looks quite similar to yours right now, maybe a TINY bit darker, but definitely "salt and pepper" lol! I've been growing for one week now, how long has yours been growing? I hope to get some pictures up in a week or so. It's been a VERY fun week at work, let me tell you! One woman near my age came up to me and said "I like that, David" and actually put her hand on my face and felt it! I even got a couple of indirect compliments on my hair, as I indicated in my "great day at work" thread below (you probably missed this as you were on the road), which I posted a couple of days ago. Maybe it's my new confidence in myself that's bringing this on.
Your hair seems to show some serious length now, the picture doesn't even show all of it, looking great, yours grows so much faster than mine! What length are you aiming for?
That's one SCARY week you had on the road, I knew you drove a truck, but I didn't realize you drove one so big or in such hazardous conditions! I'm glad you got back safe and sound.
All the best,
David
Hey, ya David!
Look what you started here!
I started the same time you did. Actually, the facial hair tends to hide my flabby chin:)
My hair does seem to be growing rather fast. I want to go to mid back, (if I can).
The truck that I drive now is smaller. The pic that I posted was from about 13 years ago. Yep, that makes me feel a little old. Now you know why I have all that gray hair.
Let us see those picture when you get them.
the beard really suits you IMO..you don't look mean,you look "bad-ass"..there's a difference!!and the hair's lookin ace!!
Ok there CA! Now I want a Harley! Ha! Thanks for the kind words, but I'm really not the bad ass type. I'm just so tired in the photo that I can't smile:) However, the facial hair does hide some wrinkles.
Hey, I thought I was the only mean old man around these parts!
Let us see some pics if you can. I may look a little different after some sleep; I hope. Well, I'm about to find out.
Here is my hair and beard. My ponytail is well over 3 feet long and my beard has a few strands that are as long as 8 inches. Lots of strands in my beard are 6 to 7 inches long. Despite the white hairs in it, I plan to grow it to full length.
Absalom
very nice!
hope you do let your beard keep growing
Just to put my two cents worth in, I think you look on the verge of a new look. Just scroll down to OREN, what a lovely beard and hair combo he has grown. YOU can do the same, clearly. His looked a little scary to me at first, but his last photos are awe inspiring of late. Keep the beard growing, and behold the BEAUTY!
Seriously, the hair, and the beard look made for eachother. Keep everything growing, and stay safe on the trecherous roads!
Here in Oregon, as you well know, it can be very dangerous. Don't let anyone get too close to you!!!
We need more long hairs on the road!
love,
-Daniel
looks like you have a nice start of what could become a nice beard.
I think a beard would look good on you Jeff! And I don't think you look mean, maybe distinguished is the right word.
Take care,
Bruce
That's a great look you have going there Jeff!
I think the gray looks perfectly fine. Don't let that noxious "look younger" programming get to you. Real happiness is accepting who you are now. Wear your true colors with pride!

Thanks for all the kind words. I think I'll keep the beard as I do like it. I have never in 42 years had long hair and a beard. I did have a beard for about one year, however, it looks really different with the long hair. Actually, I think the beard looks better with long hair. Well, thanks for all the pics and kind words. All of you have been most kind.
Jeffrey.
It's great to hear your keeping your beard for the long haul, Jeff! I guess we'll be travelling this journey together, lol, and DO post some pictures showing the FULL length of your hair soon!
All the best,
David
Please, post a pic of your beard when possible. Thanks, Jeff.
Hi Jeff,
I did as you requested, see my update further up the page.
