I have recently been shampooing every other day, and conditioning every day. I shower in the morning. This past semester, i have been in a lifegaurding class, which means i have to go in a pool, and reshower to get the chlorine out of my hair. On my non-shampoo days, should i condition when i get out of the pool, even though i just did it that morning? Or will that just add to the greasy look.
This is a tough one. I would suggest wearing some sort of swimming/protective cap to your swimming class. It might look funny so im not sure if you are up to it. Another solution , On your swimming days, Shampoo the chlorine and whatnot from your hair and condition afterwards. I think a leave-in conditioner would be your best bet after the shampoo. Try using lots of oils for your hair as well. I personally think the best option is waering a swimming cap. Hope this helps. Good luck
what kind of oils?
What im probably going to do is just shampoo on the 3 days a week i swim. that kinda messes up the every-other-day thing, but that shouldnt hurt anything, right?
No man , Not at all. As long as you condition and oil your hair , I dont think it'll hurt it at all. Just replenish all the oil you stripped from your hair and you should be fine. Try using a very mild(light) shampoo since you are going to be washing frequently. Use jojoba oil or almond oil. If you cant afford those , Try any inexpensive oil designed to lubricate your hair. Try to be gentle when you shampoo and all should be fine. Well , Take care.

I'm swim regularly too. I always soak my hair (in the shower) immediately prior to swimming. The hair will absorb the fresh water first. The result is that less chlorine can be absorbed because the hair is already saturated. They make an anti-chlorine shampoo you can use afterwards. It leaves my hair feeling pretty stripped of oils so I agree with the other posts that you should re-condition and also use oils on a weekly basis. P.S. I do the same thing when surfing if possible...wet the hair PRIOR to swimming. Salt water totally dries out my hair which can tend to frizzzzzz anyway even on a good day. Swim-On! Bruce'ster
