It seems like the left side of my hair as another texture, like it's more thin on that side and thicker on my right side, how exactly could this be possible? Has it something to do with wich side i sleep on?
Simon
Hey Simon, I'm not sure if this is any help but sometimes if I sleep on one side all night I wake up with one side of my hair very thick and manageable and the other side of it either looking really flat or like Cloud Strife style spikes. It may be also that you could be using too much conditioner as that can make you're hair appear thinner than it actually is. Sorry if this isn't of much help.
I believe it is to do with the side you sleep on. But i don't think one side is thinner in reality. It just the hair is probably more compacted together on one side than it is the other due to you sleeping on it.
I'm sure a lot of what we think about our hair is just perceptions rather than fact. If for whatever reason we worrie that our hair is getting thinner, say by becoming paranoid because our brother is going bold then our minds try to justify our worries to us by altering our perception's of our hair to look / feel thinner, because the brain would rather think its right, even if its right about going bold than to think its self to be paranoid, when really nothing has changed with the hair.
This also works with thickening/ volumising shampoos. We expect to see a difference in volume so our biased brain creates the difference we wish and hope to see though our perceptions, because we don't want to feel let down and coned by the shampoo. In reality volumising shampoos make an unnoticeable difference to anyone else that looks at our hair.
This is just my hypothesis though.
I notice a similar thing, as I sleep on my side, the hair on the side that I'm on the most seems more squashed and thinner, and needs more detangling. If I can alternate sides, the effect isn't as noticeable, but I always need to detangle in the AM anyway. (Time constraints mean I always wash the night before, as I get up and go to work VERY early-I can't deal with the extra 2 hours it would take to air dry in the AM lol!)

hey Simon,
I have the same problem (if you can call it a problem).my left side is thicker than the right (or at least it appears to be so).maybe it just looks thicker on the right cause the hair is behaving differently there (I also notice that my left side is frizzier than the right.)It's all genetics IMO.I don't think it has to do with sleeping.after all,I sleep on both sides,I like turn sides a million times a night lol...
I agree, you just get what you get, wether you like it or not. My hair looks MUCH thinner overall (slightly more so on my right side) after a night of sleep, in the morning once ive brushed my hair is blows itself back up : )

Thats normal in some people. Thats why not all people sport a side-part. Hair is not perfect. I have the same issue with the bangs that you mentioned before and this issue as well. Just look closely at my pics and you will see. Its nothing to worry about. By the way , Have you tried combing it back instead of side parting it? It might look better or maybe even disguise the uneveness.
All The Best
