.Such great stuff going on here.....too bad I haven't had the time to reply personally to each post.
I would like to say, though:
João - you have some great hair and I consider it a shame that long hair is not supported by your immediate family. At least you and your sister have each other.
All - I loved the time warp and seeing the length of your hair journey as measured by your old, short-haired looks (from the 'So how did you look with short hair?' thread).
ChrisG's, I hope your health problems abate soon.
Cerebral Assassin, Advice has been given that tattoos, being permanent, require a lot of thought. At only 30, I've gone through a variety of beliefs, world views and tastes. I am not sure that a single symbol (let alone of a wrestling emblem that will fade from the public eye in 6 years or so) could encapsulate something as far-ranging as one's self. If you find one for you, post it before you tattoo it to get a few other opinions.
Tai Fu - I am glad you are considering a switch to some healthier lifestyle choices. Truth is, though, that you're going to need to both exercise and eat a variety of foods which include fruits veggies and whole grain (lower glycemic index, more fibre rich) grains - don't just jump on the "cut out the carbs" train. Don't worry, though; cooking is not as hard as it thinks and it can be easy to get twenty minutes of cardio and/or basic resistance training a day.
JoninIndiana has a great update - hair long enough to warm the nipples! (It is also so authentic with the bathroom splash on the mirror - just like at my house!)
Thanks for the informative link, ChadF.
Jason, as ever, it is a pleasure to get philosophical with you. Thanks for making me think.
Weston - best of luck with the fitness challenge. All the best (there is another opportunity for before and after pics...)
Simpa88 - your hair looks fine; no thinning noted IMO.
Great update, NuttiDave! The long hair and beard make you look, IMO, more approachable, more friendly. Keep it growing.
Same for you , Helgast. I wonder what the years will hold.
DavidN- I think I like the centre-part. I am interested to see how that beard will look when it is a bit fuller. So far, I approve. I would personally shape a bit more on the neckline to make a clean distinction at the desired beardline. (But I haven't your aversion to razors. In fact, I used to shave with a straight razor - what fun!)
Welcome to DaPs and Ale (and any other newcomer whom I so rudely neglected to mention by handle).
Tom! What tremendous growth! Wow, Girl, you keep on going strong. (Any indication how far you are from terminal length?)
Sorry for the bulk message - like a Christmas form letter! I just want you all to know that I am around and I am reading, but I am rather busy of late.
Ciao!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Dude! I'm a man! hahaha I'm sure someone else thought I was a girl too, but I'm not! I'll just take it as meaning that my hair is of such great condition that it would appear as if a girl had looked after it (by the way I changed my name from Tom so as to avoid confusion with another poster)
Thanks for the kind words though! Terminal length? Well, there is no indication what so ever of it approaching any time soon, it doesn't seem to be slowing down and is staying thick right to the tips! :)
No worries, I saw that you were a man immediately. :)
I knew you were a guy.It was hard to tell in the pics because the one with the shorter hair wasn't very clear and the other one your hair covers your face.Really nice hair by the way.You need to post some more pics of your as it is now.
Keep it growing
Arrick
Thanks Shawn, this is definitely a new journey for me, as its the first beard I've ever had in my life, I'm quite pleased so far. I plan to let it fill in more, then will decide on a final shape.
As for the part, there is a split of the preference of people here, the pendulum is swinging back to the middle. The picture was a poor attempt as I was trying to style dry hair after it was in a side part, I'll have another go at it later.
All the best to you and your ADORABLE daughter and family,
David
Thanks. I'll keep on checking in and if I get a snow day anytime soon, I'll have some surprise time to catch up.
ciao!
Shawn
Tom is a girl????oh btw,I'm not gonna do anything hasty...I'll give the tats some thought Shawn..thanks for the advice!! :)
No I'm not! I'M NOT!
oh sorry about that..I didn't read your posts below!!
So sorry! I only saw briefly some of the other posts (suggesting Tom was a surprisingly Masculine handle for a female) and I thought they knew better than I.
Oh dear... seems I am apologizing for sticking my neck out. Either way, you have Amazing hair and I wonder what is nature vs nurture and how one can better emulate your hair growing speed.
Sorry, again.
Shawn

Sorry to forget you.
I scrolled down and all I saw originating from you in the past couple weeks was a post asking Jason about shampoo bars. If I missed anything else, I am really sorry. (I am sure you can forgive me.)
Sorry.
Shawn
Just kidding around with ya............
