Hi!
Two weeks ago i bought extra virgin olive oil for my hair. When i opened the bottle it had a very strong smell, didnt think more over it then, but today i sat down and read on the back of the bottle and it said best before 2005!!!!
I have used it two times in my hair to deep condition, and it did wonders.Have never had such silky, soft hair.
But to the point, should i throw the bottle and get a new one?
Can it be dangerous to use it on my hair??
a.
Hi Aleksander,
Speaking as a chemist, I would say the oil has gone rancid (oxygen in the air has reacted with the oil, causing it to go bad). Although probably not harmful to your hair, it obviously would not make your hair smell very nice, so I would advise throwing it out and buying a new bottle.

Aleksander, extra virgin olive oil is made from the first pressing of olives. It usually has a distinct taste and smell. Olives from different areas have different tastes and smells. Use pure olive oil or light olive oil. It is cheaper and won't have that smell or taste.
TLH
Eat lots of Pasta with garlic sauteed in the ol;ive oil, and when you run out of oil keep it simple. Then get more, fresh oilive oil or other nut oilds which in my view work as well.
