Hi everyone
Everybody knows me here as having very long hair since ages.
It is true that in some locations like where I am, that's Mauritius, people don't accept long hair. They look at you with contempt. This continuous ostracism had led me to cut my hair to shoulder length. But it has not changed much. People still look at me with contempt and have all kinds of fake opinions on me as if they see thru my mind. This sort of behavior truely reflects their misogyny ("oh I thought he was a girl") and their "I am perfect-he's not" attitude. Ok if you thought I was a girl, is it a crime to be a girl? But what's more incomprehensible is that women themselves give me this sort of remark. Do they hate themselves?
Today itself, some salesman at some shop told his colleague "oh i thought he was a girl" When I frowned at him, behind my back he called me "gay". So from a girl, I now turn into a gay guy! How more stupid a taunter can get? This shows the IQ level of people here.
Excuse me, but next time I won't cut my hair.
People are morons just because their own lives are worthless so they need to drag someone down to their level. They are pathetic and not worth caring about. Don´t be self-conscious about your hair, you don´t look like a girl and you sure as hell doesn´t look gay. Hold your head high!
I recommend growing some kind of beard if you are worried though. Maybe a kickass moustache. :)
The worlds governments have done well into brainwashing everyone into ideals and public morals that everyone sticks to like it is sacred. Anyone who wavers from it gets ridiculed, but the people who do waver from it, are the real people who haven't been brainwashed by such rubbish!
Both posts below this are so very good and I am glad that they were written. Bravo!
Most people tend to be insecure, so seek being "safe" (in their own minds) as following what everybody else does in society and denying themselves self expression. They want to "fit-in" to the crowds so to speak and be accepted. As said below.........just pathetic.
So, they pick on someone who is different (actually in many cases) as a way of lashing-out at themselves. Best thing of all to do is NEVER try to defend yourself when getting negative hair comments. Pretend you don't hear them, or if you DO respond to these pitiful creatures AGREE with what they say, thank them for their opinion and give them a big happy smile. (This will stop them cold as the potential for an argument has just fizzled.) After a while, these "do-gooders(?)" who have nothing better to do with their life will no longer be entertained by lashing out at you because you have long hair and they know that they can't get the best of you.
Funny, but in the end when your hair is long enough and gravity has settled everything so well, respones of compliments will most apt come your way. The "negative stops." This has happened over and over so many times with the guys who have posted to this board.
Another thing. Live your life for yourself and don't try to please others in the "be a clone like everyone else" catagory. For even then STILL you cannot make everyone happy.
My best to you in growing out your hair again since the haircut. In the end you will be the winner...........not them.
There is a general fact about humans :
they are frightened by people that dont look like them.
and fear => hate
Just ignore these retarted, maybe you have long hair and they dont , but maybe your better in you head that they are ? or maybe they also secretly want in their own subconscient mind to let their hair grow and doesn't have the courage to do it
sorry for my crappy english i didnt sleep enought this night ahaha

My hair Journal
Hi, I am in the U.S and its no different anywhere. I have been trying to grow my hair since I was 14. I am 20 now, so for 6 years my family have been asking am I confused, telling me men dont grow their hair, and I should cut my hair. So its been a routine for me growing my hair, then cutting it,...Growing my hair then cutting it... Now they tell me either I should grow it or cut it. So I told them to focus on their physical and let me be happy for me. Ive now vowed to never cut my hair again, because I believe that through your eyes this is your world and everyone else is just in YOUR LIFE. So the next time someone thinks I or you are sexually confused, he must be the one confused focused and gazing upon me, feel me! And every woman has their own opinion, believe me when I say their is 10 women to every man whether your bald, blind or crazy...
That's a good attitude.I had trouble with a guy I worked with several years ago.He had a real problem with my hair and thought I was gay.He was a deep south redneck of the worst kind.He used the N word a lot and didn't care who heard it.I once told him that the next time they showed a gay pride parade on tv that he needed to pay attention. Most of the guys had hair cuts just like his.He never said another word to me.
Arrick
I bet he will stop using the N word if he uses it in a black neighborhood...
yeah...In fact,if he ever utters the N word in a black neighborhood,he'll stop saying any words at all...
I always wonder though... why is it that blacks dont have any sense of humor when it comes to someone other than a black even mentioning the N word, yet other black people can freely use the N word?
That's a real shame.I've always thought you and your hair are beautiful.I haven't had anyone call me gay in a long time. The last time I had short hair(25 years ago)I got hit on by gay guys a lot.Luckily for me,I haven't had any negative comments in quite a while in fact I've had several good ones.I wish I knew what to say that would help other than ignore the jerks. One good thing about hair,it will grow back.
Good luck,
Arrick
I am glad to realize that there's still that solidarity on this board. Mlhh remains unique.
I dont see how people associate long hair with homosexuality.. Most gay men have really short hair from what I've seen. People need to stop being so judgemental about how others look and just mind their own business. Most people around where i live are neutral about long hair, but I've noticed that the ones who like to call longhairs "gay" or "girls" are insecure about the way they look, and feel the need to do that kind of stuff in order to make them feel better about themselves.
Hi Tarikh, Good to see you again. I'm glad you're growing your hair back really long and have decided not to worry about your detractors. No matter what you do, somebody won't like it. And, deficient IQ is a pretty constant factor throughout the world, not just in Mauritius ;-)
See you later
None of that makes sense until you realize that none of those people REALLY think you look like a girl. Nobody says, "You look like a girl," to real girls, Dude. If they REALLY thought you looked like a girl, why would they comment on it? So what IS their comment? It is an anti-longhair slur. One of the guys in this thread mentioned the N-word. Well, you've simply encountered one of the N-words for longhairs.
Mention was made that one doesn't say the N-word in the black side of town. And I'd bet the people you speak of would not tell you you look like a girl if you were in the company of several other longhairs! It's not a phrase you'll hear in a biker bar from anyone who wants to keep his teeth.
As a longhair you're mostly alone (not with other longhairs) so people can get away with their slurs, but they are nevertheless still uttering slurs. Disassociate yourself from those people pronto. People who throw slurs at you don't love you man.
I've done actual counts on the street here in San Francisco, and there are less longhairs in the gay neighborhoods than in the straight ones. So that is no more the truth than you look like a girl, and they are lying - they are lying in order to slur you. Most people take their uttering of lies seriously, so they REALLY want to slur you.
Indeed, once you realize what those people really are, why would you make such a deep personal sacrifice for liars who hate you and slur you? Why would you even give them the time of day?
Bill
wow...excellent post!!!
Thanks!
Bill
Here's what you say: "What do you have against women anyway? You prefer men, big boy?"
that one's from Vice City, by the way
