Hiya!
Since im new here, i guess i can ask this question that's been asked million times before. How you take care of your hairs?
When i had short hairs, i had no idea what saying "bad hair day" ment, thought it was a joke or something. My hairs allways look good when short. Now that im growing my hairs long, and they slowly, but surely, are growing and have now gained some lenght, i noticed my hairs cant allways look "the best". I love my hairs when they're just washed and conditioned. They look great and feel great, but i cant wash them everyday, its not good for the hairs right? What im doing now is this:
I wash my hairs 2-3 times a week (only, even that it gets greasy), with 2in1 shampoo+conditioner (Pantene pro-v). I use water that is little colder than my hand. Then dry it with towel, carefully pressing down, not rubbing. After that i add conditioner (allso from pantene, volumerizing) and let it stay in my hairs while i wash everything else. Rinse the conditioner off with very cold water. Dry again with towel and let it airdry. Sometimes i add moisturizing spay from Schwarzkopf (moisture kick, its leave-in conditioner) to the hair-ends when hairs are dry.
Now finally the guestions :D
Is there anything i should change in my hair-care-process?
I havent done any trimming to my hairs, some say i should cut a little of the hair-ends to keep split-ends and damage from moving upwars. I want quality hairs (the little perfectionist in me) so that sounds ok. How much upwards the damage will move, since when i get hairs longer i can cut the damage out or will the damage move up to the whole hair and nothing can be done when its long? Since now i dont feel like cuting even one millimeter out of my hairs. Should i trim now (even if it makes my heart cry :P ) so the final outcome, when it gets as long as i want (or can) will look great?
I heard that its good to do some intensive-condition ones a week. What does that mean, is it something to do with the olive-oil thing i red somewhere? Or do i need to buy some conditioner made for that or just let the normal conditioner stay in longer?
And final guestion (for now :P). I've done martial arts, different styles for 13 years. And of course i get sweaty, how damaging sweat is for hairs? I have training 3-4 times a week (+ some gym workout sometimes) and i've timed my hair-washing to those days. But the week-day rythm of that is no good so i wanna change the washing days. So should i wash or just let water run thrue my hairs without shampoo or just leave it and shower everything else after training?
Thats it for now (sorry for the over-long post) =)

I dont think my hairs is damaged, at least not badly, but it cannot be avoided, i just wanna know will the damage move upwards much ?
You mean, wash with conditioner only? .. normally instead of shampoo use conditioner ?

A lot of us here would disagree with that. To my eye, when one has short hair, every day is a bad hair day! [big wide grin]
Sweat is natural, and it causes no harm to hair whatsoever. Enjoy your workouts!

You may want to read thru Bill's page about hair care too. There are lots of links to follow under the "Links" section at the top of the page that can give you all kinds of useful information.
Your routine sounds good and you will probably have an easy time growing long hair. Sweat won't hurt your hair. It might even help to keep your pores clean and speed hair growth by improving scalp circulation.
P.S. - I guessed Finland as your origin because your reminded me a little of Jukka from Extreme Duudsonit.
Until your hair is really long, you don't have to worry too much about how often you should wash your hair.
During my first year of growing my hair long, I used to wash and condition it several times a week...and I used to wet it every day just to control my hair during the awkward phase.
When you hair is very long, then it's a good idea to shampoo just the scalp and then let the shampoo just slide through your hair when rinsing.
But hair can take quite a bit of abuse in the beginning without becoming damaged.
For now, your primary concern will be finding a way to get through the awkward phases without looking like you have messy looking hair. So if you have to wet your hair everyday, that's okay.
You can use products like L'Oreal MELTing Gel and L'Oreal Liquid Spray gel for touch ups. (Nothing better for controlling the 'frizzies').
Good luck!
