I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who commented on my 3 year update further down the board. For the first time I have responded to EVERY comment, so feel free to look again at that thread if youd like.
And to EVERYone on this board, thanks for being a part of it and for contributing to what it is. And thanks to any lurkers out there who have long hair or are considering growing theirs. Represent!
Finally, I got a few comments on the whole waviness/curliness thing. Thanks people, I feel much better about my hair type these days and even though I have been cool with it for a while now, regardless it was still very nice to read such encouraging comments.
Im also including a picture of my hair from my 1st time growing it out, 2 show you what I mean when I say it used to be straighter, but Im doing this not to complain, but to rejoice in the fact that Im not upset about it anymore and I can freely post such pictures.
Thanks again everyone and I wish you all an amazing 2007!
Great lookin ponytail you've got there, it's getting really long now:)
Simon
It is an old picture. Don't you read the message?
Looking great! Looks like you're still bodybuilding.
Oh, I see that this is an older image after reading the post by Vytautas, nevertheless, it looks great and please, show us the results of your bodybuilding efforts when you can. Bodybuilding is something to be proud of as well.
Damn straight!
This first pic is from 2004.
The second one is from around 2 months back.
All natural baby! (i.e. no steroids)
I think the dyed beard looks great, but you're lucky as you looked good with the grey beard too.
I got a question about body building... if I cant access a gym what could I do? right now I use a gym in a university for free but it wont be open all the time for long because they generally use it for class... Also do you have to eat a certain way or something?
Im trying to lose the pot belly and gain some muscle at the same time... so I have to do cardio and weight...
It's best to get specialised personal help, but generally speaking, if you exercise with weights 3 or 4 times a week (using/modifying your own bodyweight if you haven't got access to a gym) and do cardio (a wide variety of things and opinions on what is the best cardio routine/s) around 5 times a week, eat well, WITH carbs and with a fair amount of protein (roughly between 0.8-1.6g/kg/day)BUT whilst making sure that you are burning more energy (calories or kilojules) through exercise than you are consuming, then you should lose weight first and foremost while also improving your strength and adding a bit of mass to your muscles.
another very important general point: In terms of weights remember it's all about PROGRESSIVE resistance, so whether you are using your own body, or weights make sure to increase the amount of resistance over time. (e.g. every 4-6 weeks, but this is highly variable and its best to get yourself assessed and programmed for, but if not and in any case you will find out over time what works best for your body.
Finally there is a lot of debate about this but 1 view is that if you eat smaller portions of food, but more frequently throughout the day (e.g. 6 meals) it will boost your metabolism. If nothing else it reminds you of the importance of food and of what it is exactly that you are putting into your body.
And don't forget to condition!
