This is a new pic of me taken at a party this past New Year's Eve. I normally have very straight hair but just got the urge to try some curls so a hairdresser friend gave me a perm about 3 weeks before this pic was taken.
The perm was very gentle and has gotten a little losser since this pic was taken. Oddly it seemed to shortened my hair which is understandable but when I put it back in a ponytail it looks really good since it is much more wavy.
I have really enjoyed the change - you know the old story - those with curls want str8 hair and those with str8 hair want curls - just real fun to have a change.
The curly hair looks great, but please be careful with the perms! I am currently not a fan of doing anything to change my hair type, I am too paranoid about damage. I got into a trap of straightening my wavy hair nearly daily for a year and a half, which caused damage and I think slowed my growth rate while I was doing it due to the broken hairs. It is only in the last 4 1/2 months that I have wised up and stopped straightening, my hair is thanking me for it now.
