As you can see, the hair looks kinda long here, combed back and with a hat...
But is there any simple thing I can do about that outward curling at the back? It makes my hair appear shorter than it is. it looks cool from the front view, but from the side, not so good.

When gravity kicks in it'll get straighter, at least it was like that for me.
Anyway, great lookin hair, do you color it or is that your natural haircolor?, if i'm not misstaken you had black hair sometime ago or?
Simon
Yes and no. My hair is naturally brown, but not quite the shad of the pics. When I got rid of the black, it left a slight reddish tint.

Nope. I had to put up with the same curl when my hair was your length. No worries, gravity will take over as your hair gets longer.
some things I have found: THe more you try to fix it (ie. comb it) the worse it looks.
also, I find it helpful to have a shower in the evening (like at 7:00 pm), let it dry naturally, and then at 8:30 (when it is partially dry), comb carefully through using a wide toothed comb.
then go to sleep (around 10 or 11??). When you wake up, you should have better luck. Just don't comb it AT ALL in the morning --use your hands. Have you tried using smoothing pomade? it helps make it silkier/ straighter.
I agree with the gravity theory. Once it gets long enough to clear your collar, it should behave better.
