  Hi there, was wondering if anyone could help me. Basically I have always had short thick hair always geled. Now i am determined to grow it long, not pony tail long but kind of down to my chin all the way round thin and layered!

  I am growing my hair at the moment, the current state the back is longer than the front, the longest bit goes half way down my neck, also I have hair already that that I can push back behind my ears. But the front gets very bushy and its about 2.5cm shorter than the longest bit on the back.

  So finally my questions are, should I thin my hair out always and gradually? should I use any special products? how long have I got to go? is there anything I can do in the mean while to keep it looking good?

    If you want thinner hair, you should goto a salon and get your hair cut to your requirements. They can use thinning scissors.

    Hair grows at 1/2 an inch per month.
