Hello Everyone,
Showing a guy who hasn't washed nor combed his hair in 26 years, was a bit off-color, and that is what media like to show. How men with long hair are dirty.
In Quebec we have a local celebrity, a sculptor, called Armand Vaillancourt, and one of his better known works is the Embarcadero fountain in San Francisco, and in Montreal he is known for his metal works, and is one of my long-haired heros.
He is socially engaged, and even earned the Governor's award in Quebec (Prix du Quebec).

In the above link you will see his picture, and he has not changed hairstyle since the sixties, and never sold out like many who had long hair in the seventies and cut it off because it was no longer trendy, and it ages well with him.
Have a nice day,
Georges in Montreal.

Damned, the way his hair and beard are, he looks a lot like me! (Before I recently grew my beard longer.) And wow, for his age he is one attractive dude!
The length of his hair is much like mine, and likely so is the shape of his neck, causing much of his hair to fall in front of his shoulders rather than behind them. Like me, he seems to often wear a headband, which is really practical when most of your hair is in front.
The Vaillancourt Fountain is now often ridiculed. It was designed to help hide a freeway which the 1989 quake destroyed. Now the fountain is hiding a gorgeous view of San Francisco Bay and is seen as an eyesore. This is not the artist's fault of course.

Never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes...

I have to say he looks pretty darned good for a 78 year old. If I could look like that with another 25 years on the clock, I would be one happy camper. And the hair is not too shabby either, no sign of MPB or thinning to speak of for this guy, he has been blessed!
