Its been 2 months since I posted last, and I decided to post a few pictures from around the time I shaved my head and a more recent picture, and I have a picture of my roots, and of the tips of my hair, I don't know if I have split ends because I don't know what they are really...so if somebody could explain to me what they are, and if I have them, I'd be very appreciative. And sorry about the pics thing, I don't know how to post pictures the right way so heres just links.

And, I recently started washing my hair every day, usually changing my shampoo every day ( I use 3 different kinds: jason organic aloe vera shampoo, some coconut stuff, and garnier fructis)
And I still don't towel dry
Dont look like you have any splits so youre doin fine. Hair doesnt need to be washed everyday but by the looks of it you shouldnt change your routine cause you have great curly hair.
Split ends are exactly what they sound like, the very tip of the hair will split in two and will look like a Y. There are other types of damaged ends such as kinks/bent, dots, triple splits, etc. If you do find them you can easily snip them off with some good sharp shears.
in excellent condition. Many guys in their teens here are concerned about the condition of their hair. You are taking very good care of it, and it shows. I don't see any splits at all in the closeup photo. When your hair gets longer you will probably want to DECREASE the frequency of washings. Daily is good for short hair, but not for long hair. It takes a long time for the natural oils to reach the ends of your hair when it gets really long. Washing too frequently can do harm. Here is a general guide.
If your hair is .....
shoulder length: wash every 2 to 3 days.
mid back length: wash every 4 to 5 days.
waist length or longer: wash every 7 to 10 days.
Rotating shampoos is probably good, I use 2 different ones myself. You will also want to use a conditioner. I use 2 different ones, garnier fructis and aussie moist. If your ends are dry, try jojoba oil.

How do you deal with the massive amount of grease that builds up right away then? My hair is vile when unwashed, and it becomes greasy if I don't wash it daily.
How long is your hair? If your hair is only 6 to 12 inches long, and you produce a lot of oil, you will need to wash frequently.
I don't produce massive amounts of oil in only 1 day. My hair is extremely long (well over 3 feet) and it takes a long time for the oil to spread through it. My age may have something to do with it, I am 53 years old.
