I'm going to Hawaii Thursday for an 'extended' weekend and might do some snorkeling. Does anyone know of anything to protect my hair from any possible saltwater damage? Swim caps aren't an option. ;) The only thing I thought about was just to shampoo and condition afterwards. All thoughts, comments greatly appreciated!

Hey Rick,
When i go swimming in the pool (its not salt, but it also has bad stuff in it), i wet my hair and cover in conditioner. Works great, but only stays on for an hour or so.
I guess conditioning really well after is good enough, but thats a guess on my part.

Hi Clayton,
Thanks for the tip. Definitely something to consider!

Hi Rick,
I was visiting my niece on Maui a coupl;e of years ago, and went swimming every day, --- I didn't even think much about it the whole week I was there. I remember at least doing a lot of fresh water rinses; plus whenever I shampooed, I conditioned heavily afterwards (but I do that normally, anyway). I was using Kukui nut oil on my ends by then, so maybe that also helped; but my guess is that unless you surf everyday of your life, I'd bet you won't have too much of a problem.
Have fun in Alohaland!!

Hey Ken,
Sounds like good advice. I'll probably do a lot of fresh water rinses, condition, and not worry too much about it.
Yep... I do a lot of surfing each day. Then I turn off the computer, go upstairs, and condition my hair! :)
