I do miss my long hair, and I've been thinking that I will just grow it back without cuts and shit. I will be following the same growing stage thingy that James Hetfield did in 2003, and what Raven did in 2004, after he was shaved bald in late 2003.
Instead of combing it straight down hoping it makes it longer, I will have it messed up, or sometimes just slicked back. Raven did this, and his hair came back rather quickly. The top was shorter than the back and sides, but he hid it well by combing his wet hair back, and eventually, it evened out, and caught up in legth.
So yeah, I'll do that, I've read on here that the best thing to do is have no maintenence cuts, and just to leave it. It's just making it look good in the meantime, but since I am in Sixth Form, I can just wear a hat to conceal my hair as it grows.
Good plan, guys? And yes, I will take monthly photos. I fucking miss my long hair.

Hey Chris,
Your story has played out so many times. That's why we encourage waiting at least two weeks and only if those pass without you wavering once, only then cut.
You're young. It took me a while to finally realize long hair was me and there would be no more cutting. I wish you success on this journey. I think monthly progress pictures are a great idea.
You had great hair and you'll have it again!
Longhair for life,
Jason
Chris
Good luck with your new journey in regrowing on what you have losted !!!!!

Great news that you are growing it out again! Sometimes the fact that you cut your hair in a speedy decision, and now realize that you never wanted to cut it in the first place, is the one turning point that will truly make you committed to long hair for the long haul. I wish you all the best in your new journey.
Keep it growing forever,
David
Hey "PhoeniXCE"
What you have just done has been played-out time and time again through the years on this board with the same outcome, that being of regret! Sometimes the best way to learn is the hard way as that really drives the point home.
In growing your hair out this time may I suggest just letting it grow and do its own thing. No need to buy a hat. Actually, the Awkward Stage (if you make it thus) can be turned into a very fun time as you will see all kinds of new styles never to repeat themselves again along the way. Kind of wild.......but fun! :-) To spend time trying to cover-up everything along the way just makes it harder on yourself. If possible, just forget about what your hair looks like along the way as you try to get from point A to point B.
Some take different routes in growing out their hair long. The fastest way to "arrive" is to just let it grow non stop for at least 2 years. Automatically the hair ends-up looking terrific. Others prefer (during the growing-out stage) the "All one length look" which will require trims to keep all in check and alot more patience. But still, if willing to put in much more time, the end result will be nothing short of superb.
Good luck to you as you begin your journey to long hair again...........and this time make it. The rewards that await will astonish even yourself. And, no regrets.
Justin~
Good to hear that you're gonna give it another shot. It took me a couple times before I really set my mind to growing my hair out as well. Best of luck to you in your renewed journey! =)
I am glad that you will begin the journey once again!
Next time you ever think about cutting it again , Follow the two week rule! Well , Chris , I wish you nothing but joy in the journey! Keep it growing and keep us updated!!!!!
Sounds like an excellent plan - don't get all obsessive, just stop getting it cut and mess around with it. Before you know it you'll come out of the shower one day and go "Wow! Check out how loooong my hair is!!" and you'll have got there stress free without even trying. Very good decision indeed.
This time the journey will be easier. You know the right path now.
Keep on growin'
