I don't really get the chance to take wet pictures but I got to on friday, just uploaded em now. Some of them are hand brushed/tossed and others are slicked back with a wide bristle comb. I wash my hair 2-3x a week with conditioner each time followed by leave in conditioner (in the pics I used aussie spray leave in conditioner). I only actually use shampoo maybe 2x a week, and its always a shampoo+conditioner.
Though my hair is curly/wavy when it dries, I havent had any problems with the awkward stage this time through. I attribute it to never having used harsh heat sources such as blow dryers and flatterning irons on it; along with rarely using harsh shampoos. I only use a full shampoo when absolutley necassary. It really leaves my hair dry and strips it clean of oils which will make it puff up. I lessen this greatly by thoroughly combing through leave in conditioner afterwards.
For other people with hair like mine, Ive found a way to make the hair straight and less 'volumized'. After showering and washing with conditioner, dry your hair out by pressing a towel on it untill its damp. Then put an average amoung of leave in conditioner in it, comb it back so that its flat to your head. Then put a hat on to hold it that way while it dries for a few hours. When the hat comes off your hair will be straight, all you have to do is finger 'comb' it flat, then put the hat back on. It may seem like a long process but considering I only wash my hair on average 2-3x a week its not that bad.
