Hello all,
sorry I am not so present these days -reporting season is almost upon me ... again!
I am seeing some great stuff here. I also wish I had something profound or witty to give as a quote, but alas I do not.
I am getting compliments lately and I am loving that. They more than offset the comments from my mother-in-law suggesting that I am looking more and more like a clown a la the Simpson's "Krusty".
The new teacher at my school stated on her second day, "I just LOVE your hair!" Then apologized for being so enthusiastic about it. (I told her not to worry.)
The office manager for my teachers union asked me tonight if my curls were natural. I said they were and she said, "Well they're beautiful".
and, in a reverse kind of way,
one of the new Educational Assistants at my school saw an older picture of me that had me with short(er) hair and said, "No offense or anything, but you look a bit freaky with short hair. This longer hair suits you much better."
I am loving this process!
While I am a week shy of my 10 month mark, I am looking to wait until my 1 year now before posting another update pic. I want it to look significantly longer than the 9 month pic.
Thanks for being here, guys (and Mouse with the ever-growing, lovely hair), even when I am not.

That's great, Shawn! I'm so glad you're getting more and more positive support for your hair. Comments on a webpage are nice, but nothing beats real-life acceptance. I'll look forward to you 1 year update.
