Hi, everybody! Here are the pictures I promised to put up.A little background info:My last haircut was on February 5, 2002. And since that day I
have had NO cuts and NO trimsnot a single one.
I started out with different lengths, but as you can see, over a period
of 5 years everything seems to have evened out fairly well! The pictures below were taken last Sunday morning immediately after
washing my hair. Looks a bit messy because I wanted you to see the
natural texture of my hair without the benefit of combing. In the first photo you can see the length of my bangs on my left
shoulder in relation to the total length of my hair. Then in the last
photo you can see that my hair has somehow become basically one
length! This happened all by itself without the benefit of any trims.
So you can see that it IS possible for hair to become ONE length
without ever cutting or trimming it.

Hi Luckskind! This is a testament to a five year span well-spent growing hair. It looks great and the natural wave adds so much. I wonder if ever you have done a self-portrait? I am sure as far as artistic aesthetics, it would rival that of Albrecht Durer in one of his self portraits. Great hair, and glad for you to have posted your photos.
No, I have never done a self portrait painting..only photographic portraits.
But you are correct, it is certainly something worth considering.
If I ever paint one, I will post it on this Board.
Thanks!

This is the first time I've seen pictures of your hair (other than your avatar) and I have to say it looks GREAT! Keep it growing, the waves look really cool.
-Mihnea
Thanks! I have been a member here for 5 years and have posted very few photos of myself.
So when I hit my 5 year anniversary I just had to put up some pics.
Thanks!
Hey man,
Your hair looks great, no doubt! And it's nice to see it down as opposed to tied up as in your avatar. I haven't had trims in 1.5 yrs and don't plan to either. The last time I grew it out I did and regretted it. You're an inspiration! Here's to 5 more years. Bruce'ster
I think it is important that we post pics of ourselves from time to time
to inspire others as to what they might expect to have after a certain number of years.
Of course genetics plays a role in what one's hair looks like AND how long it will grow.
Because no one in my family has hair as long as mine, I have NO idea what to expect.
But every few months I still notice more length (it's harder to see when your hair gets very long)so I know it is still getting longer and longer.
Thanks!
Hi Luckskind,
I certainly great to see the pictures you have posted and you certainly have to most amazing looking hair. It's great to see natural curly hair. I'm sure you are cert proud of what you have achieved over the last 5 years. Your certainly an inspiration here and also just proves you don't have to have trims.
Keep it growing.
John.B
I posted the pics because it was my 5th anniversary since my last cut
and because i had not posted new pics of myself in a very long time.
After the first two years or so, you stop thinking about hair growth on a regular basis. That is, it becomes something that is going on in the 'background' of one's life.
Thanks for the compliments!
Fantastic Luckskind! Really! I was thinking about trimming sometime in May, but you have inspired me. No trims!
Keep on growin'
Bruce
Well, I can only speak for myself ( although Absalom has also experienced
the same thing), but hair CAN even out without trims.
Now,that is not to say that I am against trims, it's just that I never had any and now you can see the results that I got from not trimming.
Some guys need trims--and to be honest, if you want your hair ends to look very neat--then a trim is probably the way to go.
But anyway, hair does have a way of evening out by itself.
Thanks!
Cool. My dad keeps telling me I need to get my hair trimmed, while I'm of the "as long as it's in good condition with no splits, it doesn't need any cutting" persuasion. Not like I'd take hair advice from a guy who uses up all the hot water, uses 2-in-1 soap & shampoo, and far too much hairspray. XD
Thanks!
Hi Luckskind, your hair is gorgeous. I see your hair is somewhere between wavy and curly. You mentioned not getting trims to even it up. I have done exactly the same thing. I started growing out my hair from a rat tail. As my hair grew, the rat tail just got swallowed up by my surrounding hair. I am living proof that trims to even up hair during the growing out process are not necessary. (I did have about an inch trimmed off early on to remove damage from colouring my hair.)
Long hair forever.
Absalom
Well, I don't know how hair evens out over a period of years but it does.
We lose 100 hairs a day (but it seems like we lose much less than that the longer the hair gets!) Maybe that has something to do ith it?
So your hair evened out by itself too. Well, that makes two of us.
I like the Hair Quote: "Long Hair Forever" No doubt it will be among those
selected for the Gift Shoppe.
Thanks for the compliments.
Wow,that's AMAZING!!it's as if your scalp KNEW that you had a rat-tail!!how long was your rat tail when you started growing out?
Absolutely stunning hair with nice waves! How long was you hair when you started growing it out and also haven't you ever got any split ends to cut off during you journey?
Take care!
Simon
Well, when I decided to let my hair "grow several inches longer" I already
had about four inches of hair in places and my bangs were down to my eyebrows.
To answer your second question: No, I never experienced any split ends ever.
I have examined the ends of my hair with a magnifying gladd and the ends of my hair are intact.
I don't know if L'Oreal ViVE Condition has anything to do with this
but it's suppose to protect hair against things like split ends.
Thanks!
also haven't you ever got any split ends to cut off during
your journey? ~ Simon
That is some wicked curly hair, Luckskind! Absolutely wonderful job on growing it out and having the patience to do so. =)
-James
The funny thing is that I never new my hair was so wavy until I grew it out!
Patience is only need during the awkward phase...the rest is a piece of cake,
Thanks!
I am SO glad you made this update, Luckskind, the first one I have seen you make since I joined the MLHH in October, and the first time I have seen your hair down. Your hair looks truly outstanding, naturally curly, healthy, and LONG! I can tell you take really good care of it, it is remarkable to see hair in such good condition after 5 years with no trims! I was wondering if you are hoping to grow to classic length?
All the best, David
(And a special thanks for all your hard work with the Gift Shop)
Well, as I have explained before, there is almost a physical force that prevents me from cutting my hair. And so because of this I have no idea of just how long I will be letting it grow.
Thanks for your compliments on my hair and on the Gift Shoppe. We hope to make
it the best Long Hair shop on the net.
That is some superb hair!!!!!!!!
I never knew you had wavy hair! I wish my wavy hair turns out like yours! Thanks for sharing the pics!
I never knew it either! When my hair was short it was actually rather straight! So
it was a surprise to me too!
Thanks!
Luckskind
Very impressive long curly hair you have here i myself have gone 27 months with no trims its nowhere as long as your but who knows might be one day in the future if i carry on growing but how do you deal with split ends i mean whats your methoded in preventing them ?
Axel
I don't know for sure why I do not have split ends. My
individual hairs are very thick. I keep my hair out of the sun
and I use L'Oreal ViVE Smooth-Intense condtioner so who knows,
maybe that helps.
Thanks
What an inspiration to stay away from the salon. Keep it growing!
Mouse
Thanks!
Wow! Absolutely magnificent killer long hair to die for if there ever was. Exquisite beyond all shadow of a doubt Luckskind, and great proof positive of how hair CAN BE GROWN just by letting it grow out all by itself.
As with your paintings...........your hair is a MASTERPIECE TO BEHOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never in my life expected to see such a triumph set of photos.
So glad you shared these photos with all the guys. Inspiration devine!
Justin~ :-)
Thanks, Justin! It's been way too long since I last posted pics of myself, so when I hit my 5th anniversary of
no haircuts, i thought I owed it to everyone to post my pics.
Glad you liked them. I was very difficult to take these pictures of myself. Mirrors and cameras--call me Houdini
Fantastic head of hair, Luckskind!!!
Five full years - congratulations!
- Oren
Thanks, Oren!
You have undergone quite a transformation yourself!
Wow Ladworth,I've been lookin forward to this update..that's killer long wavy hair to die for!!!take care..:))

em......... I dont know......
killer long wavy hair to die for!!!take care..:))
Thanks.
The nice thing about growing one's hair long is that it happens all by itself.
All you have to do it treat it well with good quality products and the
rest will take care of itself!
Awesome!
Hope mine gets that long.
MattT
It should. In fact when my hair was at your length it looked a lot like yours.
Of course what a person's hair looks like and how long it grows depends
on one's genes to a certain extent. Naturally, using good quality products
can prevent damaging the hair.
Hair that is 5 years old has to go through many washings, wind,
sun, etc. that can be hard on the hair....so there is no way
you will have long hair if you are constantly mistreating it.
Thanks!
Wow! I'm awe struck! Keep it growing!
Thanks!
WOW! very nice hair you have!
Thanks!
Wow! It's like I'm looking at a hair twin. If this is any indication of what my hair will look like in another 2 and a half years then I can't wait. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm actually really pleased to know that my hair looks and acts so much like someone else's on this board, and more so that it's you. Keep up the growth and excellent work, man. :)
Thanks! That's exactly why we post pics on this Board: to inspire others and maybe to let them see what their hair might look like after a certain amount of time.
If your hair texture is close to mine, then I see no reason why it shouldn't look
a lot like mine in another 2 1/2 years.
Good Luck!

Very cool hair Luckskind, I love the waviness of it, reminds me of the last pictures Dean put up. Such a great length too. I am hoping to get away with no trims or cuts either and see if nature will even out my hair, even if it doesn't the difference in length isn't a bad thing anyway :)
Thanks!
We lose about 100 hairs a day. This quantity seems to drop as the hair gets longer. That's 182,000 hairs over a period of 5 years.
Perhaps this is due to the fact that because the ahir is longer
the hair root itself must becoming strong to compesate for the extra weight of the hair.
Then maybe because it is stronger it holds on to the hair shaft dor a longer period of time??
Anyway, hair definitely seems to even itself out over time. At least it did in my case.
Beautiful! Truly an inspiration, thanks for sharing the pictures!
Thanks for the compliment!
Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I must say that I had to bounce back and forth between the pics that you posted and your avatar. It looks like two different people.
Congratulations on your five year mark.
Jeffrey.
