Hear ye, Hear ye. Fellow long hairs, I have an urgent matter in which I need the expertise of the community. Is it just me, or does your hair also get more easily knotted (snag) after an intense workout, like the dried sweat somehow makes the hairs, (most specifcally on the temple area) snag much more easily. Or rather, is it just me therefore making me really worried. Basically after I sweat like a mother, its really hard to run my fingers through my hair without catching a serious snag. Any help is appreciated.
I would suggest you to take a shower after each workout. Hair gets tangled when wet anyway; mine detangles itself when it airdries.
Wear a sweat-band and/or a bandanna. When you are ready to reenter the social world, a good shower with lots of conditioner will get all those knotty critters back in line. I work in extreme heat wearing a hard hat. The sweat-band/bandanna combination makes a world of difference.
Good Luck
I know exactly what you mean, as I workout for about two hours each day. A sweatband probably would help, but I shower immediately after exercising every time, so I don't really worry about it too much. Sweat won't hurt your hair at all, but rather just makes it tangle and smell bad. Hope that helps.

I'm no expert, but I do know that sweat constains salt and other by nasty elements.
This tends to act like a glue. I I would recommend rinsing out the sweat and
using a good conditioner.
Some people do not like silicone containing products, but silicone has at least one great property: nothing will stick to it.
That's why so many hair products contain it. I have been using
hair gel (L'Oreal Melting Gel) for 5 years and I cannot find any evidence of damage. In fact
I would even go so far as to say the silicones PROTECT the hair.
Good Luck!
