or does it seem that now that I'm a dyed in the wool longhair, that short hair on guys just does NOT look natural?
I was sittin' downstairs havin' a smoke, and that kinda' hit me as I watched all the suits walkin' around with their short execucuts.
Amazing, isn't it? No, it's definitely not just you.
This post might be just SLIGHTLY off-topic, but I think it relates to this "Is it just me..." thread. It might even serve as the catilyst that will help the self-concious lurkers/posters feel less afraid of what other people thiink about their own long hair. :)
(This is a poem I wrote a couple of years ago while I was reflecting on how pissed off I am with how often people smirk at anyone who looks to be on the "edge" of what's considered "normal")
UNWANTED

Persecuted, mocked and scorned...
For who I am
The torment never ends
Everyone is the same
A clone of the acceptable society
I am my own
And for that I am unwanted
I take a stand for individuality
A disease infecting the norm
No cure to be found, thank God
And it's spreading fast
People fear me because of what I represent
They think I'm trouble
A virus walking the streets
But I'm quite the contrary
I am my own

That's a cool poem! Fit's anyone with long hair we all feel it! What I find humorous is how ignorant and unattentive the general population is about long hair. Take for instance all the disney cartoon movies, almost all the hero's have long hair,but that is "OK"??? and mine is not???. Most of the "society" doesn't seem to notice this fact. Oh and one more thing while I'm on the soap box, what's with all the women and thier short hair? I can't find anything to run my fingers through. HUH go figure!!
