Before reading any of the replies, ask yourself if there's anything odd about this portrayal of Jesus. If you see something odd, please post and let me know. I'll provide the ansewr if nobody gets it. If you immediately recognize something odd, I and perhaps some others on this board might be curious to know that too. Please don't reply in the Subject line, as that will spoil the surprise for those who don't get it.
It's George Bush...
The smile or the part in the stash?
He's been busherized!!
.
It looks like George W. Bush...that's actually a bit disturbing lol
He looks a lot like our Australian Prime Ministers current boyfriend, um I think his names Geordi Shrub or something? Some powerful guy in your country.
I could be wrong....
But I thought these were females...
Well, if that doesn't cause erectil dysfunction I don't know what will:(
First, let me state that this is not a post about politics or religion. This is a post about prosopagnosia, aka faceblindness. Please also note that if you don't get the answer yourself, that doesn't necessarily mean you are faceblind.
Faceblindness was being discussed before, but it was buried in a thread so I decided to start a new topic. Somebody asked how I recognized people, and I answered something about race, context, etc. I thought people might like to get a sense of how this works. I'm also curious to see how others respond.
Those of you who guessed it's GWB are correct; but how do I know this? Entirely from context. The picture was linked from this web site:
http://www.bushisantichrist.com/
When I saw the picture, my first thought was "Jesus", based on the stereotypical hair and beard. It was only because I was reading an anti-bush rant that I figured they would do something like that, and after a few seconds of comparing with the other Bushes on the site, I decided that it must be GWB with Jesus's hair and beard. It also occured to me that this was an unintentional faceblindess test of sorts. A truly faceblind person would have no chance of getting this outside the context of that website, and I'm pretty sure I would have had no clue, had one of you guys posted this puzzle for me.
Even as I was posting this, I had lingering doubts that I might come off as an idiot, or wierd or something--because I couldn't be 100 percent sure, with real confidence, that it was GWB.
My understanding is that people with normal face recognition abilities would have an immediate and visceral reaction to the picture. Is that correct?
Only after I posted my question did I also come to the conclusion that the "Jesus" at the very top of the site, might also be a GWB. Is he? It certainly makes sense if he is, whereas a simple Jesus doesn't make quite as much sense. Note that having more pixels doesn't help--it's not an eyesight issue.
So. In a social setting, I can get by with "context" and logical deduction most of the time. Had this been a "clutch" situation I would have gone with my gut that it was GWB, and based on the responses so far I would have been right. This system works quite well. It hardly ever breaks down, but it can be embarrasing when it breaks down. The same "context" method once caused me to identify GWB as Richard Nixon! People probably just attributed this to me being "odd". Cultivating a personna of "oddness" can actually be helpful to people who don't perceive the world as others do--it gets you some lattitude on things like this.
Hi Steve, I had no idea that was George W Bush. I use hair or beards to identify people, but I have never seen our president with long hair and a beard. The photo did look strange, but I did not know why.
I am moderately face blind, and it has caused me some embarrassing moments in the past.

That is so weird, I totally did not see that at all, I still don't really see it now. Well that is an interesting test of face blindness. I am astounded that so many people caught it when I had no idea. Well I guess that confirms the diagnosis for me :)
Also shows that lots of longhairs don't have face blindness too.
I wouldn't have expected that to be George Bush in a thousand years. (I'm face blind.)
Bill
I have to admit I missed it as well, I was too busy concentrating on little things like the break in the stache, etc. Granted, I am not much into US politics, but I AM really bad at faces sometimes, I have gotten myself into embarrassing situations more than once.
That is actually interesting. I noticed it immediatly, my first thought was "something odd about the picture... Apart from it being Bush?"
I'm very much into politics, therefore, I immediately knew that it was GWB.
Gezzz..I bet Jesus loves that one.
There is something different about this, but im not sure who it is.
my brain immediately thought "that's George W." upon seeing the photo...
ITS DUBYA! he ain't no jesus though...
I caught it pretty much right away, --- so I guess that means I must NOT be face blind, huh?
Interesting thing is, though: in real-life, whenever someone I know has cut or changed their hair in any sort of drastic way, i usuall DO have a difficult time figuring out who they are (at first, at least)... unless I know the person *really* well.
As far as this particular version of "Jesus" goes, though... I don't care to know this one "up close & personal" at all, thank you very much. Unfortunately, about the only thing left that he could possibly improve upon to redeem his sinking reputation would be to actually grow a beard and long hair; but then again, that would mean he'd then ruin OUR reputation (lol)!!

Looks like JB Bush with long hair. Doesnt make him any better, hes still an ass. Long hair doesnt make dumb look any any smarter. This guy is stupid through and through.
He is not stupid nor an ass.....He is the antichrist!!!!!!!
LMAO!!! This game is quite entertaining!
I had fun with it for a little while until I got sick of seeing
his face not shed a drop of blood. Grab him with your mouse pointer and slam him against something and no blood, crazy huh?
he looks like bush no ?
My hair Journal
I knew I recognised the face but I actually thought it was Mel Brooks. :P

"I knew Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was a friend of mine. And, Mr. President, you're no Jesus Christ." TLH
Yes. There is: Jesus never smiles. Guess he knew about the 200 years coming up and was extra depressed about the Southern Baptists.
