Does anyone have any info on the effects of stress related to hair growth and health? These last 6-8 weeks have been a time of extremely high stress levels which are shortly coming to an end; is there anything that would counter any negative effects of stress on the hair?
Hi George,
I'm sorry to hear you are undergoing stress right now and DO hope things are turning out OK and the stress will be coming to an end. (In fact, I was actually wondering why I haven't seen you post as often lately)
I have heard that high stress levels can have an affect on hair growth and overall health, not from any source in particular from just from what a few guys here have said as well as some other places. In fact, I have even heard it can be a "trigger" for MPB. If a person has the gene for MPB, and the MPB has not yet set in, stress can actually be the "trigger" to kick start the gene that causes MPB. I'm not aware of anything that can counteract the bad effects of stress, other than removing its source. I'm sure once the stress is removed, the hair growth and health would improve significantly.
Anyway, all the best to you, please keep us updated as to how everything goes, I'm happy in your case that your stress will soon be behind you.
David
There is a great deal of information on the Internet concerning stress and it is a subject that is not to be taken lightly. The list below is just a sample of some of the possible symptoms. Visit a doctor, talk to a friend, walk your dog, take a bubble bath, brush your hair......whatever it takes.
Good Luck and I hope your stress causing situation is a temporary one...
