Hi Jeffrey,
You're probably on the road right now, but Nyghtfal posted this last week, I don't know if you saw his post, it had scrolled down a ways by Saturday. Apparently, it appears to restore some hair without drugs. Here's the link that Nyghtfal listed to the news item.

As a scientist, I am always a bit skeptical of anything that promises miracles, but it has apparently won FDA approval as the first non drug treatment for hair loss. What do you think?
David
I am very skeptical of laser device (which probably consist of one or more 5mw red laser diodes) costing 500 dollars or more. You can buy a 5mw red laser pen anywhere for less than a dollar a peice and probably make a similar device. I dont even know if it works as promised either. I have a 55mw green laser pointer that will burn hair clean off if you shine it on them for too long, so im not even sure about laser helping hair growth.
David;
You may want to read the Hairmax Lasercomb Web site. Seems to me it is full of buzzwords and very little science. One quote really put up my red flags:
"The HairMax LaserComb harnesses the energizing and nourishing effects of Laser PhotoThereapy to make hair look healthy and vibrant. Light is energy. Living cells thrive in light and your hair is no different. The end result is that the appearance of your hair will improve and you will feel good about your hair again"
Living cells?...hair is dead!!
The entire site seems to emphasis appearance, not restoration of any type...
I'm not buying it...
Also the testimonial photos are the old; wet "before" and blow-dry-fluffed "after" trick...

Your exactly right..., thats a pretty good trick though I fell for it
Hi Walter,
I have actually been VERY skeptical about the device all along, I could not fathom how laser light could regrow hair. I was just curious about Jeffrey's thoughts (as he has some MPB which he is treating with medication as I am), I sure he is just as skeptical as I am.
David
Yea sure... wait til you shine a 1000 watt CO2 laser death rays it will cut hair off. Even a 55mw laser is powerful enough to burn hair clean off if you give it enough time.
