My best outcome after 3 painstaking attempts to set up my cheap digital camera on a desk chair, set the 10 second timer and get into position for a picture.
It was tough but I did it! (man I wish I had someone to shoot the camera for me!!! lol)
anyways heres my newest pic. Myself, sittin on my amp, holding my Explorer ;)
Comments?
I had just washed my hair, so I have some whispy stuff in front >.<
didnt even notice it when i posted the first pic. oh wells...
That's a sweet pic, Rome! You've definitely made some great progress from the last time I saw an update from you. Rockin guitar as well. =)

I wish I had a Vox AC30 but those thing cost over 1000 dollars here in Taiwan... not even playing all that much now because I just am lost as to what to play... Im using a Zoom G2.1u as an amp because I discovered that tube amps had to be loud to have the classic distortion and I cant do that with a pro junior.
The amp model is a AD50VT, Valvetronix.
I looove it :)
Cost $329.
Im assuming that Valvtronix means tube pre-amp and solid state power amp like Marshall AVT amps? Even Marshall AVT costs too much and not worth it considering what it is. Vox AC30 is all tube.
Your assumption is indeed correct :) Tube preamp. I got this over the marshall of the same style becayse this thing had a CRAZY amount of effects built inand if I recall correctly cost the same.
I made the mistake of mentally adding color to the picture...could someone please tell me how to get drool out of my keyboard?

Everything is looking A-one superb there, Rome! The hair is looking awesome, and has grown a lot since your last update. And that is one wicked cool guitar you have as well. I would say its time for an avatar update!
Keep it growing,
David
Hey there,
That one amazing picture and quite artsy and amazing what you do with a camera. I don't even I could of captured anything better on 35mm and using B&W film. There is something about B&W pictures that gives a depth to the subject. Who needs Vogue!
The hair is coming on well and keep it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
Awesome pic, Rome. Your hair is coming along very well and it's showcased wonderfully in this photo.
Great photo !
I like the short, but full beard better than the goatee you had previously.....
Black & White Photos really do show class....I would recommend cropping that down a bit for a new avatar.
Thanks for Sharing

Awesome pic, the hair looks great, and I have to agree that I like the short full beard over the goatee.
Thanks :)
I also like the shorter, scruffier beard, I feel that I will likely keep it for at least a while.
If I knew how to crop a photo, I would do it. Any quick steps to cropping a photo?
First off, looking good mate. Coming along nicely.
Second, I'm no expert on this, but I always cropped pictures in the program Paint ("Paint"). It has always been a standard on my PC, but maybe you have a Mac etc etc.
It would make an awesome avatar (for now!)...
Great progress dude - keep up the good work!
Cool. Im getting very serious about guitar. I wanna get a Jackson soon. I have two ESP's.
Despite my beautiful guitar, I am still just learning. I dont have the money or schedule for lessons, so I am attempting to teach myself using instructional DvDs and just trying to learn some songs through tabs online.
Its a blast, but I envy people with personal instruction.
Someday I will be good. Til then Ill keep on plugging away at teaching myself.
great hair!!you carry the side part quite well!!keep growing it for sure..:)
Looking good there, nice look! Take care
That is a fabulous photo and your hair is doing great! Thanks for sharing it with all of us. Very inspirational to say the least.
Kind words from Justin as per usual. Thanks.
Do you have any larger pics of that new beard? (new in terms of new on avatar? I dont believe ive seen it before.)
Nicely done!(Picture). Your hair is looking very healthy. It has made outstanding progress. Keep it up...
Cool hair and guitar. You're more devoted to pictures than I; I just do headshots because I'm too lazy to scram into position. Keep it growing!
Tracy
coming along very well. Your hair is quite straight which should make it easy to grow really long if you should decide to do so. Very cool photo.
Absalom
Great picture, great looking hair Rome!
- Oren
Thanks :) And WOW how long is that beard of yours now?!?!
Fantastic. Do you enjoy it? I'd have to think you get to do some very fun things with it. I would probably tie it at the bottom and bush it at the top and make myself a big dwarven beard! ^_~
Hi Rome,
I do enjoy it - most of my beard is between 11 and 12 inches with a few strands reaching for 13 inches.
Sometimes I braid my beard when I don't want the wind blowing it around.
Great hair mate! :)
Sweet guitar! I used to not like that shape, but I´m geting more and more fond of it. How long have you been playing? What kind of music do you play?
I fell in love with the body of the Explorer right away, but what inspired me to actually purchase one was the influence of Coheed and Cambria's frontman Claudio Sanchez (he uses one, and it always looks incredible). Plus the weight of the guitar and the humbucs walks the middle of the road between the fat sound of the les pauls and the edgy sound of the SG's.
Anyways, I've only ben playing since tis past summer, although like a previous post says, I'm learning slowly through attempted self teaching techniques.
I Love many many styles of guitar, and therefore experiment with all of it. By this summer ill have enough money to get an accoustic guitar, so I can properly entertain my new passion for fingerstyle accoustic music (ever heard of Andy Mckee?)
Hard to pinpoint exactly what I "typically" play. It depends on the mood. Often I am playing my worship music. I enjoy just messing around with pentatonic scales, or trying to learn the occasion random riff (most recent attempt, Sweet Child of Mine intro).
Currently Working through the Rock House guitar lesson DvD Intermediate level (Im not good enough to be on Intermediate, but like everything else, I always throw myself in over my head to learn faster).
What do you play and what do you play on?
Sounds great! It´s really fun to play the acoustic guitar so you should definately get one!
I recommend that you don´t go for intermediate if you´re not ready for it. Guitarplaying is very different from learning other sorts of things. For example, if you play basketball, you can start with the basket at the normal hight and just keep shooting until you learn, event though you miss 90% of the shots. With guitar however, everything is about muscle memory. If you keep shooting and miss with the guitar, your brain will learn the mistakes, and you will keep doing them! So you will actually learn faster if you play things that you are able to perform without too many flaws. In the beginning, it can be really frustrating not to be able to play what you want, but you will benefit in the long run from playing things properly and not rushing into it. :) Check out www.shredaholic.com for free guitar lessons.
I´ve played for almost five years and I have a black LTD Alexi 600 (there´s a picture farther down on the messageboard). I only play metal though. :)
Firstly, sexy guitar.
Secondly.. cmon! What if someone told Hendrix to learn the basics correctly before moving on? ;)
I'm not a complete noob, but I could definitely spend more time on the later lessons on the beginner DvDs. Personally it came down to a time/effort/money issue.
The DvD's I liked are about 35$ a pop... I didnt have the money for the intermediate and the beginner one I played at a friends house. So I got the one that will last me longer.
Also, playing the real basic stuff bores me and I tend to put the guitar down much faster. I'd rather fail or have to go VERY slow through an intermediate exercise and enjoy the challenge then get bored (not saying Im not challenged on some beginner stuff) on easy.
But I do appreciate the advice, and Ill take it to heart.
Well, I can´t really blame you for wanting everything fast. I was the exact same way when I started out. :)
Problem is, now I have to spend a lot of time to re-learn things that I do wrong. I wish I had practiced differently from the start. >_<
Anyways, check out www.guitarprinciples.com. They have a great newsletter, very good for intermediate players.
Wow, i think we were growing out around the same time, but your looks longer, and in great condition too. Keep growing, nice guitar!!
Yes.
Looks great, and getting longer surely, though I wish the picture were in color so that we might have seen the awesome red color.
As I mentioned below, I really like this photo.....Hope you don't mind, here is a quick attempt at a cropped version.....lost quite a bit of resolution though.
I think you look sort of "Keith Urban-ish"
Cheers
