I am in need of a trim but only about one inch. This will almost completely rid me of my damaged ends due to the fact that i horribly mistreated my hair a few years ago.
Does anyone here trim their own hair?......if so, do you keep it in a tail and over your shoulder when you do it.
My hair is plenty long to pull it back and pull the remainder well over my shoulder in front of me.

you should trim it out of the tail or else it will be very uneven when you let it free.
hmmmm I trim my own but have never taken an inch off. I usually pull it over my shoulder and do a small bit at a time and then take some that is already trimmed and then match up what I have cut with what I need to cut to get it even. I do go in about once a year to get a very minor trim incase things get out of whack. Hope this helps. My hair is past mid back so I think because it is that long makes it a bit easier. Good luck!
