how long do you guys usually leave the conditioner in the hair? i usually apply it through out and make sure all my hair is covered then i wash it out right away with the same temperature of water as shampoo which is warm but not hot. should i be leaving it in for a least 2 mins or so?and/or just use cold water to rinse instead? cause my hair seems to be pretty dry after it dries. or is that normal? seems my hair is always the best looking the next day or 2 after washing yet when i see girls hair after washing it looks normal not so dry.
I leave mine in for a couple minutes. I shampoo (if it's a shampoo day), rinse, condition, finish showering the rest of myself, and then rinse the conditioner out. Seems to work.

Same here. I usually use Garnier Fructis 3 Minute Masque [seems to condition a bit more than the regular GF conditioner] but leave it in for much longer than 3 minutes. When I rinse it out, I turn down the water temp a little bit. Seems to work good for me...

Some of them (like the one I use) give instructions as to leaving it in. I often wash it straight out, but won't from tomorrow onwards as my ends are dry also.
what I do is:detangle before I get in shower,shampoo the scalp,rinse it out with cold water,put on conditioner,leave the conditioner in,wash the rest of my body,rinse the rest of my body,and THEN I rinse out the hair with cold water.after that,I gently pat my hair with a towel to sop up the excess water,then headbang,and then I either:
1)let it airdry,or
2)blowdry it (on a low setting)

Haha, that sounds very similar to my routine on my shampoo days. Only, I always let mine air dry. Headbanging with a wet head is so much fun, isn't it? =)
I think im going through the same thing, maybe ur problem is that you wash your hair to much, some peoples hair seems to need to be washed less often than others, maybe due to overwashing/conditioning/....???
just leave it for a while,....maybe even try just washing it once or twice a week, to see the effects....
at least thats what im doing....
