Hi Guys
You all did a fantastic job in submitting Long Hair Quotes to be used in our Gift Shoppe. Both Luckskind and myself have spent many hours on which ones to use. Alas, if you don't see your name below, it is absolutely no reflection on your quote idea(s). Indeed, because of so many received and space limitations it actually came to flipping a coin to determine what would be selected.......that's just how tough it was for us! Please Note that under the authors name in some cases you may notice:(see Alt)meaning that there are alternative versions of your original wording below the main list to refer to that may benefit your quote. The choice is yours. So:
A. Please let us know what version of your quote that you would like used.
B. Let us know if you would desire your user name to appear along with your quote.
c. If there is a particular T-Shirt style that you like best let us know. (Or other item.)
D. Post to the board as "MY QUOTE."
We want to assure each and everyone of you that there is absolutely "no obligation" on your part to purchase whatever is put in the Shoppe. No way! (However, should you decide to do so or even order someone elses quote or any other item available, you will be doing this Hyperboard a great favor in helping us raise necessary funds to keep us up and running all the time.
A great big thanks to all of you great guys in making the Hair Quotes so much fun.........and with such fabulous success! :-)
Justin~
ps:(If nothing is heard back from you, Luckskind is going to begin the work it takes to get these or alternative versions up and available in the Gift Shoppe.)

Absolutely incredible!!! I love all of them... I kinda wish I did post some quotes of my own. Still once again this boards proves to be really inspirational! :)
...go right ahead and post it. The doors to the Gift Shoppe
are always open...and
we are always looking for new things to offer the public.
You can use the modified version of my quote. It would make it more meaningful and personal for anyone who might buy the shirt. Also, you can feel free to put my username on it. Cheers
"Long hair is a symbolic representation of who I am." ~
Thanks SOADdude! We are asking members if they want their membername included with their
quotes. It appears that you are in favor of adding the membername so
we will put that is the "Yes" column.
Thanks!
Justin, thank you for all your record-keeping and for posting this official list of Long Hair Quotes!
I agree that everyone did a FANTASTIC job of submitting some very nice, original Quotes.
Some of the quotes need a bit of alterations (adding or subtracting words, changing the word order or rephrasing the quote). This is sometimes necessary in order to make the
meaning of the quote just a little clearer.
If your quote has (see Alt) you can check out our alternative version of your original quote.
PLEASE NOTE: We have not decided whether or not to add your member name next to the quote.
We may just add "www.mlhh.org."
But if you have any opinions on this matter, please let us know right here on the Hyperboard whether or not you would
like to see your member name next to your quote.
I like the first alternative to mine the best. Also, I'm more prone to the Ringer-T or a black T-shirt, but it really doesn't matter. And yes, you may use my name with the quote. =)
Thanks for everything guys! This is awesome!
-James
hi Justin,
superb quotes!!all of them are great. As far as mine goes, feel free to use Luckskind's improved version of my "Temple" quote (seeing as there are already quite a few quotes about haircuts).I don't want my username by it, though.
Thanks SO much for picking one of my quotes, and you may use my name. I like the ringer style T-shirt best.
Thanks so much to Justin and Luckskind for organizing this and allowing us this opportunity to do our part to help make an AWESOME gift shop that much better!
David
It does not matter to me which version of my quote you use, although i like the simplicity of the original. Let luckskind and others doing all the grunt work decide, yall are the brains here.
As far as my name being printed next to it, sure why not. If the majority of the people are not getting their name next to their quote, then printing my name isnt necessary.
thanks guys for all the great and hard work.
peace
I forgot, i really like the ringer style shirt.
thanks and peace
Hi there,
First off I would like to thank Justin and Luckskind for their hard work and time put in to taking on such a mammoth task.
I feel very honoured that you listed my quote and please go ahead and use it. At the end of the day if the quotes/comments puts longhair in a positive light them all the better.
Cheers,
John.B
First and foremost , I'd like to thank Justin and Luckskind for investing so much effort and time into this matter. Thank you very much guys! Now , The QUOTES!
Original Quote
29. (Chris H) Long hair is like nature, you never have too much of it. (see Alt)
I like the ALT. version better*********
29. Long hair is like the wonders of nature: you can never have too much of it.
Original Quote
2. (Chris H) Scissors are my worst enemy.
(I honestly like this quote as it is but i dont mind if the alternate version is used). ALSO , YES, I WOULD LIKE MY USERNAME TO BE PRINTED ALONG THE QUOTE!! :-)
Thanks again guys!
On second thought, Chris H, "Scissors are my worst enemy" is probably the BEST quote and so we will most likely be using that
one after all!
Thank you!
A: Only one version, so no decision on which one to use.
B: No username.
C: No preference.
I feel very honored to have my quote selected. Thanks for the inspiration guys!
Mouse
All of your quotes were just wonderful. Great job!
Your comments, choices and selections have been recorded.
Thanks!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I am flattered and very happy to have had my last minute entries considered and selected. I am very happy, thanks!
The answers to your questions are below.
Thanks again,
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Having long hair is what freedom is all about.
* I don't recall having put the word "hair" in the original. The ambiguity allows one to wear it even while their hair is pre-long (helpful for us inner long hairs who are still early on the road). If possible, I would prefer it said, simply, "This is what freedom looks like". I again leave it to your discretion.
Hmm. Tough call. While I am thrilled at my quotes having been selected, I don't think my name being on the product will help it to sell (though I'll at least buy one). If you do not think it will negatively impact upon sales, then feel free to put it on the shirt. If you think that it would look better without the name (and would sell more shirts), feel free to omit it.
26. a How about on the front of some bikini style, male undies? A speedo? No? Well, how about on an organic cotton tee?
Note subject heading.... ;)
(http://www.myspace.com/manlocks) - Mr.Crow's photo archive of growing hair
You didn't use the word "hair"! And we have decided it is best not to use the word "hair" afterall.
Leaves more to the imagination of the reader!
Two good quotes and they will appear on the products just the way you wrote them.
Thanks again!
A. Please let us know what version of your quote that you would like used.
I slightly revised my quote: "I wear my hair as nature intended". I really like this quote, but on a shirt it would make sense only if the wearer is at or near terminal length. Very few people wear their hair that way - the market for such a shirt would be limited to myself and a few other MLHH members.
"Long is the natural state of hair" is also a good quote, and has broader appeal. It's applicable even if the wearer of the shirt has just started growing his/her hair.
I wouldn't mind having a shirt that flaunted #1, but #2 would sell more shirts.
B. Let us know if you would desire your user name to appear along with your quote.
Sure.
C. If there is a particular T-Shirt style that you like best let us know. (Or other item.)
I like the organic cotton t-shirt. Organic is always good!
Ed
We can certainly offer BOTH quotes. That way there would be a quote appropriate to both "groups" of men: One for those with very long hair and one for those just starting out. Why not!
True, so we can use BOTH!
Thanks for participating in the Long Hair Quotes Submisions!
Well, I feel really pleased that you guys decided on using my quote, I never expected it! Feel free to put it on whatever. I think it would look better without having my name against it, as my name would be meaningless to anyone else.
I look forward to seeing it on the products and will definitely buy one!
Cheers.
No need to include my name on any quotes from me that you use. The quotes are probably more powerful without the name of a person unknown to the reader on them, and such a name would detract from people seeing the reference to MLHH. My two cents....
Oh, also, use of any alternate you wish is fine. Using such or not is your choice Ladworth! You've done so much work on this that to my eye, you get to be "the decider". [grin]
Bill
I tend to agree that a member name would detract from the quote and therefore they mauy not be included after all.
Of course it would be nice to 'reward' the author of the quote in some way but I can't think of any at this time.
Thanks for your comments. Justin and I work as a team and I never make an important decisions without first talking things aver with Justin.
Again...thanks!
I third this sentiment. What would be the use of including a name? Ouside of this group, what weight would it carry?
As for reward, nothing more than the use of the quote is reward enough, it would seem.
On second thought , Luckskind , DO NOT* include my username along the quote. Thanks in advance...
Feel free to use whichever version of my quotes you think best. And you don't need to use my name.
Thanks, Justin and Luckskind, for all the work you put into this project. I think we all had a lot of fun coming up with ideas!
Altough the version of "I love my hair... do you love yours?" May seem really reflective, I mean, it can make people think, I guess that "I love my hair... love yours!" is much more of a demanding to think about it... I mean, if they're looking at your hair, do they realize you love it? Do they love theirs? I still prefer my original version, but I'm leaving it up to the crew to decide what to do... you always do a great job so... =) And no, I don't really want my name to go along with my quote =P Thank you for chosing my idea =)
See ya!
Hi Justin, just use it like this. Please don't include my name. Most people outside of this community do not know who I am anyway.
Scott (Absalom)
Thank you so much for choosing my quotes!(#23 on the list) As far as preference on versions, for the first one, I prefer my version ( the alt is already available, but I think I kinda personalized it.). For the second, it might be better to have both the question and the answer on the front so those with goal-length hair can wear them, too!
No need to use my name, as nobody outside the board will have heard of me, or care. No preference on items to use them on, but it would be great to see them on a wide range, from T-shirts to mousepads to messenger bags!
Thanks for the great work!
Lon
