Hey everyone,
For the second time in about a month or so I've had this recurring dream about standing in front of a mirror and seeing my reflection. As I look upon my hair, someone has given me a mohawk haircut! I look very intensely on myself and with horror in my face I start to scream!! I then wake up and realize it's only a dream. It's so unsettling to have a dream like that and it seemed so real, I could actually see myself very clearly looking at where my head was shaved!
welcome to the club!!
I've had a dream like that, only mine happened only once (not recurring),and that my hair was COMPLETELY buzzed off! (not a mohawk).I remember I was looking in the mirror with a horrified look on my face, rubbing my head and wondering what had become of my beautiful locks, and then I woke up!!
don't worry though, dreams like that only prove that you love your hair very much!! :))
Hi David
I had a dream that someone had cut my 40 inch ponytail down to a length of about 4 inches. I did not know who did it in the dream. I then woke up and felt to make sure my hair was intact. Yes, these type of dreams can be scary, especially for me, since I have many years invested in growing it.

I once dreamed that: Someone cut my hair and i just took it and layed it back on my head.Dont know if i expected it to grow together again LoL (I have hade this dream a couple of times)

I had one about 8 months ago, I was getting onto an elevator and the only person in it was a barber.
He had his chair and one of those swirly barber poles and was trying to talk me into a haircut.
I just remember trying to get out but the doors would not open
and then I woke up..
...I had a similar dream just last night. I had just cut my hair short, and was looking at it in front of my bathroom mirror, regretting it. The worst part was when I woke up and was like "phew, just a dream," and then I touched my hair, and it was short! (I was actually still dreaming, but I didn't know this at the time because everything seemed so real). The worst part was that I had that false awakening like five times - finally I woke up for real and everything was OK.
Those are the worst kinds of dreams, when you are sure THIS time its real and it isn't. That must have been some rough night you had.
I have had those dreams too, guess that makes me an official long hair. More and more I am also aware that I have long hair in my dreams, which is interesting since I didnt have them when I was growing out before.
Surprised you do, I wonder why Ive never had these so called nightmares !

It is said that once you dream in a second language, then you are truly fluent. I guess once you have a dream where you visualize yourself with long hair then it is safe to call yourself a longhair.
I quit having those dreams 5 or 6 years ago.
peace
I havent had dreams like this yet... does that mean I am not a true longhair?
Hi to another David1 That is a scary dream!
I have hair dreams quite frequently. I had one a few night ago that was really weird. I was standing in a line up for something or other, can't remember what for. In the line ahead of me were several other guys with long hair. One of them said to me, "Watch out behind you!" I looked behind me, and there was a weird, little old man with a TINY pair of scissors, snipping away at my hair without my knowing! (Possibly related to my fear of losing my hair, I guess)
I also have GOOD dreams as well. About 2 or 3 months ago, I dreamed I had long, thick, flowing hair to my waist, I was SERIOUSLY disappointed to wake up from that one!

Hi DavidN and to everyone who responded,
It looks like most of us have had nightmares about our long hair being cut off, it truly is indeed an unsettling feeling to wake up from!
Until about 15 years ago I had often dreams where I was losing my hair, by either being forced to cut it or by getting bald. By the time when my hair reached terminal length (20 - 25") I stopped having these dreams. Last time I had it cut short was in Feb 1987, for a military session - when I was sent home straight away because of my weight. The following year I left my country (Romania) - and thus the possibility of being called again for military service - but I had these haircut dreams for several years after that, even after the change of regime in 1989 which allowed me to visit the country without being arrested.
Now I am too old and too fat for any kind of military service, so that I can keep my hair...
