Am still in that "awkward" stage...my wife commented to me last night that I needed to get my hair trimmed. She said she would do it herself and I said "NO". I told her I would check with my daughter's hairdresser about it. My hair looks like wings on the sides in front of my ears. Where the sideburns would be.
Any suggestions? I know it's my hair but you all have probably been through what I'm goin' through right now. What to do?
P.S. I was at a recording session for our music group yesterday when one of the horn players told me I looked "young". She said "your hair...your t-shirt...you just look younger today". That felt great until Melanie said she wanted to trim off the wings.
I don't think there's anything you can do about it, I used to get it and now it's gone. Also, collared shirts make it do that I found...
Wings are part of the Awkward Stage. If you trim them off do you
know what will happen? That's right, they will grow back.
Wings are formed because they are part of a giant wave or curl. When your
hair gets longer, the weight of the hair will smooth out that curl.
In the meantime, use hats, gel, pins and whatever else you have to
in order to fight that curl.
But if you trim it, you will end up staying in the awkward stage for an even LONGER period.
Good Luck!
I agree with what's already been said - best thing is just to tough it out. My husband's hair is looking pretty rubbish at the moment and he asked me to "shape" it for him and this time I REFUSED! Ha! Then I just changed the subject and thankfully he seems to have forgotten about it again. He won't do anything I advise, so I certainly ain't taking the scissors to it for him!
Yea the significant other always trick you into getting a trim and next thing you know they use a #1 buzz...
