OK..heres my hypothetical question...u know what it is,,only u Never get to have long hair again!!,,always short..say up to 2".....YES or NO...and thats a hundred thousand,,not a million..
no amount of money is worth it if you cant ever have long hair again, for me anyways
No. It would not be worth it to me for many reasons. Besides, I can have a really good time with just a few beers and some good music.
Jeffrey.
I think many people would say okay...but not true longhairs.
Although, depending on the circumstances, some might be persuaded.
But soon the money would be gone and then what...
Meh. Inflation. This is not the number it used to be. It doesn't buy a house here.
Now, forget about the figure and say, "short hair and a guaranteed income sufficient to keep you in the top 5 percent". That's a more compelling offer.
The answer is still "no".
It's not even the hair. I've cut my hair of my own free will before. It's the freedom. It's the respect. It's knowing I'm not your b****.
Cant even buy a house for that anymore... if it was say 10 billion dollars then it might be more compelling.
Remembering, that my hair is not being all that loyal to me (there is a fair amount of "shiny" under that hat !!)
$100K would be just the amount I need to put in two weeks notice and start shopping for my new sailboat !!!
My mother once offered me $500 to cut my hair. I said 'no' to her, too.
No way, I cut it before for similar reasons and regretted it, would hate to do it again.
NO! I would NOT take $100,000 if it meant giving up long hair forever, the hair is just too important right now! Now if I could PAY $100,000 and be GUARANTEED that I would have a TOTAL cure from my early MPB and also have hair past my belt, I would!
David
It takes about 3 years to grow to a midback length... so therefore, 24x365=8760 hours a year. That times 3 would be 26,280 hours needed to grow the hair. So at the current minimum wage of 6.75 an hour, that would be 177,390 dollars. Of course I value my hair so I wont cut it for minimum wage, and I will need at least 20 dollars an hour, therefore I need at least 525,600 dollars to cut my hair, after tax.
Tai Fu, Now that is a logical way of putting it! And after reading your post, the answer would be a definite no!
..if ya wanna get a sense of who's trully a longhair in here.$100,000 is chump change these days.I'd ask "what if you had an endless supply of money AND women?*evil grin* (I included women, since they say money can't buy love!!) :P
hmm..let me think about it!! :P
Now your talkin. Stare at this pic.....
What if I am not into women, but say if I get 500,000 and a beautiful longhaired men...?
$100, 000 certainly sounds great; but it just ain't enough, --- especially if I could "NEVER" be allowed to grow my hair back!
I can't say what exact amount of $$ would make me seriously consider such an offer; but I do firmly believe that old saying, "everybody has their price!"
I imagine that if I were to be offered one million $$ to cut my hair, but I would be allowed to grow it back, I think I'd be an idiot not to take up whatever stupid fool this would be to make me that offer. With one million $$, I could buy myself a VERY nice home, invest in some good stock or something that would help me earn a living without having to work anymore maybe, and just in general make life quite pleasant; but I'd still want to grow my hair back (lol)!!
Let's just say that, so far as I know, there's nobody on the planet that rich or that idiotic to make that tempting of an offer to me, --- and if they did, why in the hell would they want to throw their perfectly good money away in that way? What i REALLY want is... to be offered that same amount of $$ to KEEP my hair long (lol)!!!!

Yea but they did for Brittney Spears...
No way I would do it for 100,000.Put another 0 on there and I might consider for a few seconds.I lost both parents in 2005.I knew my dad had money but I didn't know how much.He had more than I thought.100,000 can disappear real quick.I bought a Harley,a Ford F350 and put central ac in my house. Also donated 2,500 to a religious organization. That was about 85,000.Every thing is paid for.I'm not broke but not rich either, don't have enough to retire on.It would be hard to retire on a million and I don't have near that much.
Arrick
But only for a million.
No I wouldn't.
If you are a "longhair for life", you work for forty years, and you get paid an average of $2500 a year less because of discrimination (due to lower salary offers or longer periods of unemployment), you will over your lifetime have paid $100,000 to be a longhair. It's a fair statement that many of the guys on here HAVE, or WILL HAVE, paid that price.
Discrimination sucks, but there's your answer.
Bill
Bill, you come up with the best replies!!!
NEVER EVEEEEER!!! HA =)
Funnily enough, not so long ago my poor dear hubby - who is growing back his hair in spite of MPB affliction, said "if I had the choice of £1,000,000 or my hair back I'd take the hair". (And that's UK £ Sterling.) I must confess I would not be too happy about that decision!! But I certainly understand do it. I think I'd take a million pounds for my hair but I'd then be able to afford wigs down to the floor and all lengths in between in all different colours as well.
I'm with LHW on this one, wigs are fun!
Elizabeth
I see you have a point Elizabeth, you could certainly get any style you want with a wig, and I know there are some really nice ones made from human hair.
But NOTHING beats the pleasure and sense of pride from GROWING YOUR OWN hair! That's what it's REALLY all about, isn't it! That's why I would not give up my long hair for money, it's all the years of hard work that I have put into it that I would be sacrificing.
David
I wouldn't ever part with my hair for $100,000. No way!!!
