I have about 2 weeks of growth so far and still haven't decided if I like it or not. Sometimes I just want to shave it, other times I don't. Any input is appreciated since I'm indecisive. Here's some pics from a few different angles, but they're basically the same, lol.
So far, so good, in my opinion. It's hard to say how a fully grown-in beard would suit you, but the length it's at in the pictures is already enough to add a bit of ruggedness. If you want to sharpen it up a little, I'd say just shave your neck up to your jawline.
Hey there. The beard definitely looks nice on you. Recently, I have been enjoying the clean-shaven look after having varying forms and lengths of facial hair for a better part of a year. Currently, I've got the stubble that comes with a few days without shaving, which I really like. I actually wish I could just keep it like that for a while, instead of having to shave and wait for a few days to enjoy it for a bit.
Anyway, on an O/T note, I couldn't believe that they didn't have HBK turn on Cena last night and get the tag titles back to Edge and Orton. They seriously need to get Cena and HBK feuding if their title match at WM is going to have any real hype. I wanted to see Shawn do the sweet chin music on Cena so badly. That's actually the only reason I was watching the show. They even hyped up HBK's past surprise attacks, and they didn't even have another one happen last night. I think this is one of the few times that I actually WANTED the predictable result. TNA has been my company of choice lately. Have you seen the previews for the Elevation X match? I'm really concerned about someone genuinely getting hurt on that thing...which is why I am not going to miss it...hmm, that sounded a lot less horrible in my mind =)
Thanks for the compliment. I usually let my stubble grow and shave once a week or so. This is the first time I actually tried growing a beard.
Yeah I was suprised Rated RKO weren't put over Cena/HBK, I was almost positive it was going to happen. I think they want to build HBK as a tweener mostly and he probably won't turn heel before the match kind of like the Eddie/Batista feud. It looks like neither big title match is going to have a big face/heel dynamic. Also it seems MITB is going to have way too many main event and high mid-card people in it, and I'm pretty sure Orton and Kennedy will end up in it. I'm worried Edge is going to lose his WM win streak, because I don't think they will want him to win MITB again.
I like some things about TNA and that match should be interesting. In the past scaffolding like matches have always been pretty dangerous, it usually doesn't make for a good match because people are so afraid about falling off that it's hard for them to put on a show.
Overall I find it hard to watch Impact because of the bad booking and they just try to cram too much into an hour. Of course there is also the Vince Russo touch in TNA that doesn't help them. I've watched TNA since it use to be a weekly PPV show, but it's been letting me down lately. I like seeing Christian as champion and hopefully he will have a good run.
Very true. I hadn't thought about that. I guess I've been too focused on Taker's WM win streak. My jaw dropped when I heard that the original plan was for Batista to end Taker's win streak. Apparently they are leaning the other way now, but between now and WM they will probably change their mind back and forth multiple times as usual. I really hope they don't have Taker lose. That would suck. lol
True. I'm curious to see if they are actually going to have Rhyno do what he said he would and Gore AJ off the scaffold. That has the potential to be a very ugly landing for both guys.
I agree that a LOT is crammed into one hour. I hope they get a two-hour timeslot somewhere down the line. I'm not a Russo fan either, but I am enjoying the Sting/Abyss storyline. I'm not sure exactly how much Russo had to do with that, though.
I heard HBK is scheduled to LOSE at WM and take some time off (since he's the only guy in DX now).I can't believe it...I'm sick and tired of Cena as the champ :((
Personally I am thoroughly enjoying the way this is playing out and IMO, it is being done to perfection.
It comes down to the little touches e.g. Shawn's very stiff, defensive body language towards Cena after they played that video; the way the world title came between them after their hands were raised as tag champs; the way Cena got a little pissed and confused at Shawn right at the end when he stepped down from the turnbucle after showing his title to the crowd, only to see that Shawn had left his (Shawn's) tag-tile on the mat and Cena's all like 'what's up with that?'.
Gold!
And I am very curious now that they have made Shawn's past betrayals so obvious, how they are going to navigate this.
I'm tuning in every week anyway, but this is the sort of thing that grabs casual fans (not to mention me entertained!)
By all means, HANG IN THERE! You're doing GREAT for two weeks and have the beginnings of a VERY nice beard, make sure you give it a few more weeks before you decide. I just grew the first beard in my entire life (53 1/2 years!) and the payoff is WELL worth it! (And your hair is looking really fine as well, I must add)
Keep EVERYTHING growin'!
David
I think it looks very good; but then again, I willingly admit to having a very pro-beard prejudice...
2 weeks is not long enough to tell whether or not you're really going to like it for sure as a permanet feature. I'm all in favor of "experimenting" with facial hair, to see what look one likes best. But you gotta give it more time to see what a fuller beard really looks like, --- usually about 2 - 3 months, as I recall. In the meantime, though... have FUN!!

It looks great, but, like Ken said, give it more time. I think it will really change your looks and you may like it. Only time will tell.
Jeffrey.
awesome!!I really like the last one.your beard is looking better than mine at the 2-week mark, give it about a month before you decide!!

if you want a chicks opinion...
i dig it. i think you look better with it. it just ads a certain... sexiness. ;)
Thanks for the compliment. I know several women who like it and others who say I look better shaven, so I guess it depends on their personal preference.
Yup, I'm with the other guys give it 6 weeks and then decide, it will fill out, feel great to the touch, and the hairs will start to aim downwards instead of stubbly sticky-outwards..
Looks great to my eyes "right now" and I think you have done well for 2 weeks. Just give it a little more time. Hey.........at least it is a breeze compared to getting to be a Longhair.
Great start, I think over time it will look more impressive. I think though when and while you grow it out, let nature take its course. I have faith that a full beard will make change your appearance, you will lose the youthfullness and might slighthly age you. I also think over time you will get compliments as well maybe better job prospects etc. I have just one complaint, i think if you choose to grow out your hair,i think shoulder length it a great length for you. I hope you are not planning on growing it past that. Good Luck.
My hair's already mid-back and has been for years. And I presume the beard would add age. I don't have a problem currently with job prospects. Thanks for the comments.
