Hi all
Here are my 26 month update pictures. I have notice that my hair is a little dry and messy at ends, I think it may be time for a small trim as I am now at My first goal length. I would like some of your views on this as I find this board is a great source of information and has been a great asset to me while I've been growing my hair.
As you maybe aware I do not post much as my hair knowledge is not to great. I enjoy reading the posts and all you guys and girls have amasing hair. please all of you keep up the good work and never cut your hair.
thank you
Aussie Guy (Robert)
Hi Robert,
Your hair is looking GREAT and grows really fast, mid back at 26 months and the length of that fantastic ponytail (which I wish was mine, lol!) are signs of EXCELLENT progress! You said your hair knowledge is not too great? Well, I say your knowledge is VERY good, you obviously know how to care for long hair and it is in wonderful condition. Whether you decide to have a SMALL trim to even the ends is up to you. If you are concerned the ends are dry, perhaps you could apply a small amount of beneficial oil (such as Jojoba oil, olive oil, or sweet almond oil) to your hair and work through to the ends, this may even allow you to avoid trimming!
All the best, keep it growing,
David
Robert, I fully agree with David's comments. Check to see if you have any split ends, though. You can do this by standing in front of a window in the early morning or late afternoon (when the angle of the sun comes in more or less horizontally), fingering your hair forward so the sunlight back-lights your mane, then looking at the ends. I regularly do this (my near vision happens to be excellent; but if yours is not completely clear, then try looking at your hair up-close with reading glasses on). You can't miss split ends, if you have 'em (and follow the instructions above for checking to see if so).
If you DO have a lot of split ends, then it is my personal recommendation to trim them off (either on your own, individually; or having a professional hair stylist take off about an inch, but no more). Your hair will be less likely to catch and snag afterward, and a comb will smoothly glide through it.
I've met guys that never get split ends, though. Bill Choisser and Absalom both are very lucky guys in that way (I was over at Bill's house once, when this very topic came up, --- and I couldn't find any splits on them!)!!
In the end, it's really all up to you, and what you'd be most comfortable with.
Take Care,

Your hair is perfect. Very excited that you have made it to your first desired length goal. As for as the drying, and my hair is very similar to yours, i find that i used to much shampoo (only the size of a dime is required). I personally dont use any oils on my hair as it make plenty of it myself:) I have to wash mine every day, but to help with the dryness i let it air dry opposed to towel drying it excessively like i use to.
hope this helps
peace
Does that ever look fabulous! The perfect type to work with. You are so lucky!
Of the trim? Are you having tons of snags? Finding a whole lot of Split-Ends which makes combing difficult to nearly impossible? If not, I would tend to stay away from a needless trim. If so, I would tend to get a slight trim after all of this time............and I mean "slight."
Thanks for the update and so glad you hung-in-there to achieve what you have. Pure dynamite long hair!
Your hair's great, Robert. Give yourself more credit; you must know something about hair care because it's looks shiny and smooth all the way to the tips.

Your hair looks excellent. A good way to tell if you need a slight trim is if tangling at the ends is occurring. Rough, damaged, and split ends tend to adhere to other damaged ends to some degree. (It happens to me this way, I have looked under magnification to examine the anatomy of my tangles at the ends.)
If the brush or comb glides through, you are probably OK. If this is the case, just use a little oil (jojoba or sweet almond oil is good) on those dry ends.

Looking great, thats quite an achievemnet.
DANG man, your hair looks FANTASTIC!!!! Congrats on reaching your goal ;-) Good job!! A slight trim I dont think would be tramatic and even it up some, but like the other guys say, try some oil on it first and see what the results are before going under the sissors
Awesome hair! i love the straightness of the ponytail, keep it growing it looks GREAT!!!!
