Hi everyone! I have been growing my hair out for a little over a year, and I probably have a ways more to go before it is as long as I would like it. It is sorta curly (which was a total surprise since when I was younger, my hair was pretty much straight), and it's length right now is just resting above my shoulders(damn curlyness makes it look shorter lol). Anyway I am a college student at UCF right now and was reading a site about longhairs, and this board was mentioned, blah blah blah and here I am.
I do have a question though. I normally just wear my hair down, with no real attempt to style it. It has come to a point where my hair sort of "self-parts" itself right down the middle of my head. I don't really like the spot on my forehead where it splits, it seems to look awkward. I guess I could be wrong and obsessing a little, but is there a way to avoid this "cleave" if you know what I mean?
thanks a lot!
Welcome to the board, Tom (I'm guessing that's your name, lol). To answer your question, my hair does pretty much the same thing, even though it's a bit shorter than yours. I've started combing a part to the side, as I think it looks better. If you don't want to use a comb, then you can "fingercomb" your hair. That method makes it easier to detangle and less breakage occurs too.
Again, welcome! You'll really like this place. =)

hi there,and welcome!!
you mention that you've been growing a little over a year with curly hair, yet your hair is already at shoulder length.me thinks that's fast growing hair!!(the average is half an inch per month).congrats!!yes, long hair tends to part itself in the middle, because that's what gravity wants!!now, about the spot on your forehead you speak of...is it possible that you can post pics so that the guys here can assess?I'm not really sure what you are talking about.(that's if,you are comfortable posting a pic).
again,welcome,and all the best..

Welcome!
What about having a tail, and/or putting your hair back over the top of head? That should make no split, but may require longer hair. Maybe even over 30 centimeters.
