Hey! I'm wondering, how long would it take from a 1 or 1/2 inch buzzcut to grow out so that i can create a slicked back hairstyle something similar to this, o do i have to cut it that way?
I know this is probably the wrong place to ask but i don't know where else to turn.
And no i haven't really decided yet if will really cut or keep it, but for a long time i've wanted to have a Rockabilly hairstyle like this as i fancy the 50's alot:)
If i do decide to cut that will most likely happen in 1-2 months or something, in case i change my mind.
Hi Simon,
that hairstyle looks really close to a one-inch buzz to me.I don't think you'd have to wait more than 2-3 weeks to get that.please consider this for at least a month,oh..and IF you do cut,I hope you grow it out again....take care!!:))

That's very short hair! I would say the front looks maybe two inches and
the rest looks no more than an inch.
The total look could be achieved in less than 4 months...maybe 3?
If you do want to cut your hair, you might want to try just getting the cut that you like and have shown us in this picture. You might be suprised how it looks as you work on growing out you natural color. You could always do the buzzcut if it doesn't work well, but why go so short at first when you might be able to cut it to the style you like and let the color grow out from that. Just a suggestion.
Why this route. If your hair is longer than a buzz cut now, you can go directly to this style. It is not for me, but when I was much younger I admired guys who had stylish, neat but full hair controlled by the equivalent of Brylcream. For example, the cop who is in all the famous pictures arresting Rosa Parks had great hear in this style. If this is what you go for, enjoy, but you do not have to go shorter to get this style. You could start with the Clark Gable version, and then if that is not short enough, then cut it down more. OR, am I missing the point tht you want to cut out the dyed part. Whatever.
