The colour of you hair and the way that just a tuft of bangs falls out of the pony tail remind me of the way Cary Elwes had his hair when he played the Dread Pirate Roberts in The Princess Bride. Take it as a compliment for that is how it is meant.
While I can finally put almost all of my hair in a tail, the stubborn ones from near my forehead refuse to stay in any tail and, unlike your seemingly well behaved hair, mine is wiry, curly and decides to stand almost stright up -- imagine the way a cartoon character looks after being electructed and the few singed hairs stick out in all directions...that's my "leftovers from the ponytail" look.

When I was growing out my hair I was hoping that it would lie flat
like yours. Unfortunately it was very thick and quite naturally puffed out.

Your hair will not fall out unless you place considerable and constant tension on it ~ (traction alopecia). I don't think that such alopecia will result from a typical ponytail, however, a very tight ponytail probably wouldn't be a good idea. Be sure not to use rubber bands.

Awesome hair!!!! It is in GREAT condition and looks simply amazing. As for the ponytail, you'll be able to tie it back without any hair falling out really soon! Keep it growing!

I'm growing my hair for one year and a 2-3 months now.
My goal length is about waist length or longer, I don't now it yet ;)
You are doing fantastic so far and all is looking great!
Don't worry about the ponytail all that much, for as every day passes you are getting closer and closer to the point where all hairs will stay in place.

super long. You should be able to grow it to your waist (if you desire to do so) with very few problems. It looks great now and will only improve with added length.

SOME hair will ALWAYS fall out when you remove undo a ponytail, even if only a few strands. I use scrunchies, to minimize fall-out.
